Pleasanton is GREAT..Smaller and more intimate. Dr. Mullen is great, butI think theres a wait list as he's the Chief. My Kids have Dr. Thompson (female) and they LOVE her. My OB moved to the Livermore campus. but I have never had a bad Kaiser Doctor. My General is Dr. T (she is female and her last name is loooong and I dont rememeber) she goes by Dr. T., and she is great. Very positive, takes however long you need and great at following up. good luck..You will love Kaiser!

My OBGYN, Dr. Elaine Carlitz, is great. She delivered my son who's now nearly 10 years old. I don't see her often, but when I do I always feel comfortable.

We use to have Kaiser for many years and when we did, my two boys ages 8 and 9 had Dr. Charles Hearey. He is truly the best! He works in Walnut Creek, Park Shadelands facility.
Good luck to you!

Hi,

My 2 girls have had the same pediatrician since birth Dr. Steven Cavalier. He is Kaiser - WC. Love him! He's thourough, never rushes through an appt. On more serious visits (after an athsma attack) or something other than the common cold, he has ALWAY's called us at home to check up on their condition. I feel very lucky to have him as our pediatrician. My oldest is 16 which says something for his longevity with Kaiser. As for the Adult Dr's. I haven't had much luck. Good luck to you!

It's about the same distance to Walnut Creek & Pleasanton from Danville. Walnut Creek is a hospital while Pleasanton is a smaller facility. Parking can be a nightmare at the multi-level garage in Walnut Creek. Unless you absolutely need some of the specialists or medical equipment of a hospital, I'd recommend going to Pleasanton. It's smaller, friendlier, and easier to park.

I have to echo the sentiments about Dr. Cavalier...he diagnosed our infant son with pyloric stenosis when others didn't find a thing wrong. We moved away from the area, so we didn't see him after that, but he's great. We also saw Dr. Bergen and liked him too.

Dr. Brian McCreary!! He is super! No complaints, has a great bedside manner and my 2 boys (10 and 5) have never complained when I let them know they have a Dr.'s appointment. He even convinced the 5 year old to be strong and brave when he had to have shots for school.

NO COMPLAINTS HERE.... you'd be lucky to get him. He is in Pleasanton Facility/Kaiser.

Good luck in your search and I hope my information was helpful.

I had both my kids at Kaiser Walnut Creek. Most of the doctors I have seen there were pretty good. I'm out in Antioch so my kids see Dr Soe in Antioch. He's awesome.

Hi there C.,
My daughters and I are Kaiser members. I take them to Pleasanton to Dr. Rick Weisser. I LOVE him! He was on call when my second daughter was released from the hospital, and I really appreciate his thoroughness with the care he has given my girls. One of the things that stands out to me is that he called at about 7:30 one evening to find out if my daughter was feeling better! She had a fever, nothing serious, and he was following up on that. I was stunned. I don't believe I've received a call like that from a Dr., especially uninitiated like that. He also has been really helpful with being thorough with his examinations, and he was very responsive and responsible for us getting our older daughter tested and County services brought in for Speech Services. Anyway, I can't rave enough about him.
Regards,
D.

Kaiser Pleasanton Pediatrics doctors are a wonderful bunch! I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. We've had Dr. Mullin for years now, but I can tell you that all the Pediatricians get great feedback from patients. As for Internal Medicine, I don't know. I'm hoping someone else can respond and make some recommendations.

I used to take my children to Kaiser WC until we moved out of the area, but we have a much better pediatrician than we did then, so I don't have suggestions for that.

However, I can suggest a good OB/GYN in Pleasanton for you. Her name is Dr. M. Cheung, and she is AWESOME. Totally personable, funny, and down-to-earth. She performed my c-section and delivered my baby girl too!

We frequent Kaiser often and in my expereince I have found that any doctor that works out of Walnut Creek is great. You have to look on the KP.ORG website to see what doctors are taking new patients. I have not been thrilled with any of the Pleasanton doctors, they work in the clinic after hours and on weekends.

Dr. Rick Weisser at Kaiser Pleasanton is AWESOME!!! Our insurance unfortunately changed from Kaiser to something else so we had to give him up. Out of 3 pediatricians in 2 1/2 years, he has been by far our favorite! Not sure on a Dr. for you and your husband though.

Hi,

I haven't been to Kaiser in years, but my sister loves the WC campus much more the Pleasanton. She also said there are not too many dr.s taking new patients in Pleasanton.

Good luck!

Dr. Margaret "Peggy" Saltzstein is the most wonderful Pediatriain. She is located on Camino Ramon in San Ramon near Crow Canyon. Her office # is ###-###-####. You could check with the office staff as to whether or not she takes Blue Cross.

My husband and I had been seeing our primary care providers at the WC location, until both my NPs and his doctor retired over the past two years. We're now at Pleasanton--he sees Dr. Ford and I see Dr. Santos Tancuan (and I'm glad to see someone else recommended her, too!). Both of our daughters have been going to Pleasanton (just so much more convenient!) almost since birth(they're now 4 and 2). We ALL love their pediatrician, Dr. Kotin. Before we chose him, we'd also heard that Drs. Weisser and Gruber were good, too. There's just something about Dr. Kotin, though--he's VERY mild mannered, accomodating, willing to answer whatever questions we have...everything we want in our daughters' doctor. (He's great with our oldest, too, when she comes along to our youngest's appointment--always willing to answer her questions, making her feel included!) Definitely check out the Kaiser website for your list of choices. What's great is that you can "shop around" a bit, too, before completely deciding who's best for all of you.

Hello!
My 2.5 year-old son has been seeing Dr. Donna Thompson at the Pleasanton office for the last year and a half since we switched to Kaiser and we really, really like her (at first he called her "Doctor Thomas Train" because of the train in the waiting room). We actually had to go in yesteday and Dr. Thompson was out, so we saw Dr. Brian McCreary and really liked him a lot as well. I can see how they'd both be good for either of your kids. I'd recommend Pleasanton as the location is not as busy as Walnut Creek and the parking is quite easy. Also, the pharmacies are quite convenient.
If you need a GP for yourself, I love mine: Mary Ann Santos Tancuan. She's wonderful. My husband seems to like his, but I can't remember the name, but let me know if you need it. Best of luck to you!

I love love love Kaiser Walnut Creek. Dr Rahul Parikh is my peditrician (I have a 15 month old girl) and he is wonderful!!! My regular doctor is out on maternity leave until Feb. Every OB and NP that I have seen in women's health has been great!!! Parking can take some time, so I always try to get there 10 min early, but besides that, we love it!!!
