Can anyone recommend a good dermatologist in the Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville,San Ramon area? I am looking for someone who is not all about cosmetic surgery, botox, collagen, etc but who knows their stuff and still does good old dermatology.
I went to someone before but felt like if I wasn't asking for cosmetic surgery or botox, then what was I doing there. All the nurses were young and botoxed and make up done like they were going out. I had a mole that I needed to have checked out and they looked at me like I was crazy for even coming in.
My Dr's office referred me to Dr. Christine Jacobsen at the office of Dr. Edward Becker on Ygnacio Valler Road, and I felt she did a good and thorough job of examining and treating a skin infection/rash that I had.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Potozkin in Walnut Creek. He does have a big cosmetic practice but he also does all the general stuff. I first went to him for removal of a wart. Since then, we do annual skin checks with him and both my husband and I have been treated for smal basi cell carcinomas. His office is very efficient and he also has early morning appointments. We've rarely waited more than 15 minutes total between the time of walking in the office and seeing the Doctor.
His nurse practicioner also treated my son for severe acne without using laser treatments as the first options.

Dr. Jerome Potozkin. He works in Danville and Walnut Creek. He's great and really knows his stuff. I think he has a website. Just type in his name and it should come up.
Dr. Greenberg in San Ramon is highly recommended and my entire family goes to him.
I just went to Dr. Marilyn Kwolek in Danville and thought she was good. She came recommended to me by a few friends,and I know she's been practicing for quite some time.
I've seen Dr. William Ting in San Ramon and he is good. If you are willing to drive a little farther, I can also recommend Dr. Katie Rodan in Oakland, I have seen her for many years and have always been very impressed with her. (You may have her of her as one of the founders of ProActive).
I see to Dr. Ed Becker in WC. They also do cosmetic procedures but the last time I was there they had moved the cosmetic practice to a separate office. And you're right...the cosmetic office is staffed by people with perfect skin and the other office is just normal people. I just saw a dermotologist for my son this week and she was wonderful. They do some cosmetic things too but when you fill out your first time paperwork you can deny that stuff. Anyway she was great and helped us I was so confident in her abilities honestly. Her # is ###-###-#### Dr Myers in Walnut creek. On Ygnacio rd near the park. Her offfice staff especially front desk was really nice too.
