Seeking a New OB GYN

I would like any recommendations for a new OB GYN. My current OB just changed providers and now they no longer accept my insurance. It is really difficult to find a doctor especially an OB that you like. I have exhausted all referals from friends and family as most of them went to the same OB as I did. If you have any referals and possibly a little info that would be a tremendous help.
My OB only accepts my insurance if it is for prenatal care, I had my son via c-section 8 months ago and now have pain on the right side just above my scar. My OB said I will have to do laproscopy sp? to find out what the pain is from. I just was hoping another doctor may take the time to try and figure it out instead of having to immediately go in for laproscopy. The only thing they have tried is an ultra sound, no blood tests or anything. Ovarian and Cervical Cancer runs in my family so I have been concerned this could be the cause. My ob told me to take Motrin and see if the pain goes away. The pain is only getting worse and Motrin doesn't even ease it enough to get on with daily chores. So any advice or recommendations would be a tremendous help. Thanks All!!!

I have IHC and I saw Dr. Gravelle at the Salt Lake Clinic. She is fabulous and so are all the other OBs in the office. I have had a great experience with them after 3 yucky experiences with 3 previous babies. I would recommend them to anyone!!!!! Good luck

Hi R.,

I go to Old Farm Obstetrics and Gynecology. I see Dr. Brown but any dr. is absolutely wonderful there!! I would highly recommend anyone to go there.

Here is a link to their website. Good luck. Oh, also I've had a c-section and get really bad pain above my scar, but only when I cough or sneeze. My dr. said it was the ligament having spasms. Anyway, check this out if you would like:

I loved my old OB/GYN Kimberly Moreland at Jordan Valley Hospital (I unfortunately had to change due to insurance). She was always so friendly and caring, along with the rest of the staff. And my current doctor is Kathryn Walker at Alta View Hospital. She's a bit more stand-offish and "down to business" but when it came time to deliver my second child, she couldn't have done a better job. I would recommend either of them.

I go to Dr. Carrie Sloan at the Hidden Valley Medical Center across the street (to the west) of Kmart on 12300 S. and 1000 East. She's really good.

Hi R.~
I use Dr. Merrill at Western OB Clinic at Cottonwood hospital. He is a wonderful doctor! He takes to time to answer all my questions during my visits. He even remembered what I craved when I was pregnant with my last baby. If you're looking for a doctor with a good bedside manner, he's wonderful. He also takes the time to figure to figure out what's wrong and how to fix it.
