Hi All,

I would like to decide between Spring Valley Hospital and St. Rose hospital, San Martin Campus for my labor and delivery. My doctor delivers at these 2 hospitals and would really like to decide one over other.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

St. Rose San Martin was great. All private rooms and very large to accommodate family and friends. Nurses were wonderful...very helpful. The only thing was that when I was there almost 2 years ago for the birth of my son Aaron...it was BRAND new and they did not have a level 2 or above nursery and we had some complications with Aaron and he almost had to be transported to another hospital without me because I would have had to stay there until I was released. Thank goodness...he made it through the first night and we were in the clear...because of a wonderful, dedicated nurse who had Level 3 experience...she watched over him and and NEVER left his side. Please double check so that your little one gets the best care possible if needed.

I would definitely recommend St. Rose San Martin campus! I had my son there in October and had the best experience. I had a c-section and was there for 3 days. The nurses were excellent! It wasn't very busy so there was always someone available when you needed something. The rooms are private and huge and it was just so quiet and relaxing!

So far, I have only been to St. Rose de Lima and I am most impressed with their curteous professionalism and quality & excellence of care.

As a kidney patient who is currently on dialysis, I found that most the staff to be very kind, gentle, and highly attentive to my most personal and very specific needs.

My personal recommendation would be either Nathan or Ron as your nurse. (August 22, 2010)

I have not had any experiences @ SVH however, I have had many friends at St. Rose and I personally would choose it.

Go with St Rose! Its like the Bellagio of hospitals. I had my last baby at spring valley (10 months ago) and it was not a great experience. Plus it was all under construction and I had to deal with the sound of jackhammers outside my "window" (that was completely covered in plywood so the workers couldn't peer in) for 8 hours a day! This next baby due in Oct I will go to st rose.
