Help! I did a load of laundry and discovered my son had several pieces of gum in his shorts, now it is stuck to several pairs of his and his sister's athletic shorts. Does anyone have a fool proof method of how to remove the gum? Thanks much!
Hi D. I used peanut butter and it came out pretty good. If i was afraid the peanut butter would put oil on the clothes then I would put the clothing in the freezer and let it get pretty firm and it would peel right off. Good Luck Also I used tooth paste to get crayon off the walls

Goo gone. Some people swear by freezing the clothes. I prefer goo gone or another product like it to remove the adhesive. Good luck!
I have used ice then scrape, peanut butter also works. So sorry you didn't catch it right away.
peanut butter and/or rubbing alcohol. I just took several glue spots off Abbie's pants this weekend. It was some kind of glue that acted like gum. She had used it at day camp. I washed them in cold water and then while damp, I used rubbin alcohol and then my fingernails. Came off easily.

goo gone. It's work best for me and doesn't take out the color either. I even had to use it inside the dryer where the gum stuck to the drum. you can buy a small "trial" size for a buck or two or a full size vottle for $5. good luck I know it's time consuming getting gum out of your clothes.
Ok, I had this situation before. Normally, ice will remove any gum stuck in clothes, but if you put them in the dryer, you will need to put the item in the freezer to harden the area and when it is hard, take a butter knife to scrap it off, still use ice too. My 4yr old, for some reason had gum in his clothes and I washed it with out knowing. I followed the instructions and it came out.

Five methods I know of are peanut butter, Skin So Soft Bath Oil, ice/or freezing, Shaklee's H12 or H2 (can't remember which) and Goo-Gone.
Use ice to harden any big quantities and scrape it off with a knife.
Any residue left?
Get some GOO GONE at the hardware store.
It removes gummy residue and adhesive etc.
It is oily, so if there is a spot on the material, put some shzmpoo on the spot and then launder.
