Gum Removal on Clothing

I hope this doesn't post twice. It doesn't seem to have gone through the 1st time. I've tried to find a website to help me remove gum and gum stains from my pants, but can't find the right one. Does anyone have any ideas besides peanut butter and/or olive oil? I don't want to stain my tan pants with oil. My only other option is to freeze them, but I'm not sure how well that will work.

What can I do next?

I would try Goo Gone. It works on removing every other 'sticky' thing and it doesn't stain clothing. They have Goo Gone gel now too which might work better. Good luck!

There is a product by Shaklee called Basic H2 that works great. It's been around since the 60s. My daughter recently sat in gum at the ball field and got it all over her good shorts and our car. Worked great. Put some on in concentrated form and I scraped it with a spoon for a few minutes and it was out of both of them. The product also has many other uses. One bottle of concentrated H2 will last you probably a year or so and it retails around $12. It is non toxic and safe around the kids, I use it for many, many things. This is the product that made me want to start a shaklee business. I didn't realize how harmful the things I was cleaning with were until I looked into these products. If you'd like to buy a bottle my website is www.shaklee.net/dudinyak, or if you have any questions you can email me at ____@____.com you try it you'll love it.

E.,
My 13 year old step daughter forgot to remove a pack of pink bubble gum from her shorts, and I forgot to double check. The shorts and gum went thru the wash and dryer. Got all over my husbands dress work shirts. Took them to the dry cleaner and they got all of the pink bubble gum out of everything.
Good luck!

There is a product called Goo B Gone you can usually get it at walmart. Try that and it should work.

Hi!
There are 2 products I have that say they work on gum. I have never tried them on gum but they do work on crayon and sticker adhesive. They are for sticky gooey messes and both say they work for gum.
De-Solv-It and Goo Gone
Reading the backs, it looks like the goo gone is a safer cleaner and I think that is the one that you can find at the grocery store, or Target or Wal-Mart.
Best of luck!

I have used an ice cube on my childrens clothes before when they have gotten gum stains on them. If you rub it on them and get it hard enough then use something like a butter knife and in a sense peel it off it takes time but it has always worked for me.

I, too, have heard of using ice to freeze the gum & then it's supposed to kind of peel off. Good luck!

Hello E.:

Placing ice on the gum will allow you to remove the gum. Not sure about gum stain. There's a product call "Carbona" you should be able to purchase this product anywhere (888-745-5599) its' possible they produce a product to remove gum stains.

Hope this helps.

try a ice cup on your pants. i know ice cubes work in hair when bubble gum gets caught in them. i remember this from when i was little and got bubble gum caught in my hair. hold the ice cube over the area which has gum on it until it freezes and gets hard and then try to get the gum off. I am pretty good at removing stains.if that option does not work then try the olive oil then soak your pants in dawn dish soap then wash them so the oil will come out of your pants. if you ever get ink from a pen on your pants try hair spray,it helps repel the ink. good luck.
