My daughter will be turning 15 in March. Any ideas for a not too expensive quincenera party. I live in Norwalk, California.

What can I do next?

My mother, sister and I have done many house/hall caterings. We usually have clients that prefer 3 item meal, 2 side dishes, and if we serve the party it controls the food and servings.
Alot of families usally have a lot of family and friends help out with a purchase of something for the party event; ei apple cider bottles by the cases, usually purchased at Costco or downtown LA.

If you need catering for your event call or email us!
We also do;
*small family/office catering
*before/after parties house-office cleaning
*Tamales for the months of Nov and Dec
*Notary Public

Depending on your budget and where your having your party could break the $$$$ down. Keep her dress Simple. If you sew or know someone who sews get it made. A.S.A.P. or go shopping downtown, La for great deals. Keep decorations simple. Balloons are great on their own or a flower arrangements for centerpieces. again.... go downtown flower mart. Keep food to a buget. If you have family memeber that are great cooks involve them. Let your family be a great investment in this time asking those to have a part to bless her.

As for the details on the ceremony you can make it very special for yu and her. Depending on your faith and believes this can be very heart felt. Either a single mom or have both parents in the home. 1. Write/read a letter to her at the ceremony as a surprise. 2. If you don't want to deal with having 15 couples have just her. So she has 100% attention for the night. If she wants a champrone have her dad be her first everything. When she is married that's when she'll be given to the one God has blessed her with. For the meantime her father or a grandfather or someone in her life that is a great loving man that would be a great man in her life. If a single mom you can always have that first dance and lead her to a life everlasting teaching her by your examples and encouraging her daily. There is so much more to share so if you like I wil keep my eyes open and hope to hear from you soon. I hope that I was helpful.

Well, it depends on how big or small you want the whole affair to be.

Go small:
- you can get a few of her friends together and go to a tea room or take them out to a spa day
- just family and friends at the park
- church ceremony with a dinner at your place or at a restaurant

Go big:
- rent a hall, get a band and chambelanes and the whole thing. This is going to cost money, but you can always get madrinas and padrinos to pay for some of it.

I had a really inexpensive one.
My family cooked. (It was their gift)
A friend (DJ'd)-now days you could do it your self or have a friend man- a computer or ipod or mp3 player - (His gift)
If you cant afford a place-try a park or ask someone you know who has a large house or yard. We did handmade decoration and invitations. ( my friends and family would come over and we would make decoration together in advance.)
Find a friend that takes great pictures to capture event. If you want nice portrait go to Sears portrait on different day-for cheap.
Downtown LA's garment district has some cheap clothing and decoration stores. Please email me if you need more info.
the flower market down town is also Great.
My quincenenera was great with good food and music. My family and friends enjoyed because we al worked together to make it happen. Also spending the extra time together was good.
have a great time
