Question Regarding Getting Pregnant with a Boy

First of all I know that this is a crazy question but at this point I'll do whatever it takes to try for a boy. My husband and I have three girls, ages almost three, 18 months and 1 month. We are already talking about having another (yes, we're a little crazy)! I've been reading a book called How To Choose the Sex of Your Baby by Dr.Shettles and I was wondering if anyone else has read it or has used this method and been successful. Don't get me wrong either, I am completely happy with my three heathly girls an I will be completely happy if we have another little healthy girl but we would like to try and increase the chances of having a boy. I told my husband that this is it for us no more babies after this next one (I'm already 35). Any help would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi W.

I actually followed the Shettles Method and had a baby girl, which is what we had hoped for. My husband comes from a family of all boys, so I just assumed boys were it for us! Surprisingly enough we had a girl. I say go for it, it really makes sense and worked for us! Good Luck.

Hi W.,

While I personally haven't used this book, I know of several people who have and it worked! From what I heard though, you have to be pretty serious about it if you really want it to work and actually follow what it says, instead of only partially doing it. Good luck!

Hi W.,

I haven't read the book but I was told the Chinese Chart works. It sounds a little superstitious, but it worked for me and my sister compared it to 30 other peoples pregnancies and it showed 28 were right on. Also you must be on top when conceiving and don't eat a lot of acidic foods!

Good Luck,
B.

Hi W.,

If you are healthy and want more kids, i say go for it! As for how to choose your child's sex, i would pray about it. I'm not sure about your spirituality, but that is what i do. It's about expressing your hearts desire to God. That is my advice. :)

Blessings,

K

I read that book and tried for a boy and got one. It worked for me and I would recommend it.

I know of a family with 12+ girls and finally the last baby they finally got a boy. Don't know if they used any of the methods as this was a number of years ago probably before these books, but I am sure that they tried all different kinds of things. Tragically though, the boy died before all other siblings at 17 in a car accident.

If that is what you really, really want and would not want another girl. I would definitely talk to your Dr. you might want to consider IVF where they can determine the sex. I also do not know if they can do some sort of analysis on your husband's semen before you try again.

Hi W.,
I have used the Chinese Gender Chart (you can google it). It's not about methods or anything like that but about your age and the month you conceive. It has been right for all 3 of my kids and for every other pregnant woman I know. I have 2 boys and one girl on the way :)

Good luck!
