Hi B.! Certain positions or foods have nothing to do with gender. Read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler (sp?). She talks about when to have sex within your fertile cycle to achive the gender you want. Although, I don't think any method is a guarantee.

I have read that if you conceive later in your ovulation cycle, you are more likely to have a boy. It worked for my husband and me. I used the electronic ovulation testing kit and waited til I got the "smiley face" - then we tried the next day. Obviously, it can't be guaranteed but it's worth a try! The only problem is that if you don't get pregnant on that try, you are less likely to have another chance in the same ovulation cycle... So it could take longer to get pregnant

Sorry to say this, but there is no way to plan to have a certain sex. Just pray that God gives you a healthy baby. If its ment to be you'll have a boy next. Best wishes.

I second the mention of the Chinese Birth Chart. I haven't used it to plan yet, but have checked it with many babies (including myself & siblings!) and it has always been correct!

I created a prettier version of it myself at http://chinesebirthchart.bestwd.com/ You match the age of the mother at conception with the month of conception.

I also want our second child to be a boy, whenever we decide we are going to have a second! So, to help with planning I made another page to help with that! LOL http://chinesebirthchart.bestwd.com/dates.php

You select YOUR birth month and put in year (so it can calculate your age) and then select a month and enter a year for the chart to start with. It recreates a few years worth of the Chinese Birth Chart data specific to your age and the month/year.

Yes, I get a little bored sometimes.... haha!

I hope it works!!

Hi B.,

I have two kids, a 19 year old girl and a 13 year old boy. Just for the fun of it,I checked the Chinese chart. It was right with one and wrong with the other,so I would say it is right half of the time, not 99% like it says. I understand that you want a boy. I have one of each,a six year age difference, and I wouldn't change a thing. We did not plan it that way,but I love the age it. Good luck on whatever sex you have,as long as the baby is healthy.

I too have two girls and desperately wanted a boy. I did a TON of research on the topic and found a great site on babycenter.com called y wishers. There were so many tips on this site. I followed all suggestions on the site and it worked! Not sure if this was why we had a boy but I thought the more we could "sway" the odds in our favor the better. Hope that helps.

My husband and I also used the Shettles method to conceive a boy. Just thought it would be interesting to try and we did have a slight preference for a boy. We have a boy, not sure if it worked or if we'd have had a boy either way, doesn't matter much really. (The Chinese Calender said I would have a girl.)

I am one that believes in many things, but with this it is up to your genetics and a higher power.

Many of the old wives tales are just old wives tales~ in this case, I totally believe it is matter of coincidence.

I feel if you do conceive, then consider it a blessing as so many others have tried or are trying and are unsuccessful and they would just be happy with any baby. I see many coming in to see me and it just breaks my heart to see their struggle.

Best of luck and may your third baby be blessed and healthy.
