Ok... I am on the pill and normally get my periods right before I start
taking the brown pills when your period is to start. So I get it like 2-3 days
before then and lasts up until the end of the brown pills. I should of got my period around Jan 12-13thish. I have not recieved it yet to this day the 19th. I took a test Sunday morning and it was negative.!? I have had some wierd moments of all of sudden get really hot feel like passing out... all of sudden headaches normally when I wake up not bad ones. I started sweating when standing in a store on my face and felt as I was going to pass out. Today I am having sharp and noticable pains lower abdominal pain. Both sides.. Nurse says to wait 10 days and take another if I am it will show up then... I dont want to wait that long as I am a smoker and have drinks!

Hmmm... that's interesting. I would definately hold off on the smoking and drinking just until you are absolutely sure. I would take another test like they said, but if it turns out negative I would schedule a dr. appt. anyways to see what IS going on, since that doesn't seem right. Once you figure it all out, then you can easily go back to your old routine, and who knows, maybe by then you won't feel like smoking anyways?

If you are that concerned about being pregnant, hold of on the drinks and smoking for the 10 days needed to retest. This actually may be a really good time to quit smoking, as it only takes 72 hours for the nicotine to get out of your system....the rest is all just breaking the habit.
You could also request a blood pregnancy test...they can't deny you one if you insist on it.
Good luck.

Yeah give it a couple days and I am sure you can refrain from drinking and smoke as little as possible. Each time I was pregnant I had a bunch of negative pregnancy tests before they finally showed positive (yeah I was excited and wanted to know badly too). If you are religious about taking your pill you probably aren't pregnant but your body may just be having a little hormonal change and will regulate in a couple days.

I would say wait and you might have to fight the urge to drink and smoke...I was pregnant and even a blood test come out negitive...and sometimes it could be your birth control...hope you find out soon! take care and be safe.

I would say, don't wait. Take another test, if it is negative, there are a few other possibilities: ectopic pregnancy or ovarian cyst or fibroid tumor in the uterus. If the pain persists, you need to see a doctor pronto! My cycles are also very consistent, except when an ovarian cyst disrupts everything and causes pain - some have cleared up on their own, others required serious pain medication and hospitalization. Hope you find an answer to the problem!

I would follow the nurses advice. All pregnancy tests will come up postive 14 days from conception. So 10 days sounds good to me. I'd test at 7 days though because I always get positives at 10 DPO so it might show up that soon.

But in the meantime I'd quit smoking and stop drinking. It's a matter of days. Study after study shows that the miscarriage rate increases dramatically with usuage of either. Nothing is worse than finding out you are indeed pregnant and then getting attached to the child and losing it. You don't want any reason in your mind as to why it happened. Sure lots of people smoke and drink in their pregnancies and it comes out OK but trust me you don't want a logical reason why it happened and it happens alot. Go and research it. When I was TTC until I got the negative I refrained just in case I managed it that month.

But best of luck to you!

I suggest you follow the nurse's advice. If you are pregnant, you don't want to take any chances. Maybe this would be a good time/perfect opportunity to quit smoking altogether since the smoke won't be any better for your baby after he/she is born. =)
