Hi Moms,

We are trying to conceive #4. I had a positive OPK on 9/21. We had sex a few days before, day of positive test and day after. I believe my period was due yesterday, 10/6 or maybe today 10/7. I have many pregnancy symptoms, but they could also be PMS- hard to always tell. Anyhow, yesterday I had cramping all day like my period was going to start. At night, I did have a glob of cervical mucus(sorry if gross) with slight brown. thought my period was starting. Nothing. took a First response early test today. Negative. I believe those test are pretty accurate, so negative should be correct? No period still. I did have a ruptured ovarian cyst in July and wondering if this could be throwing me off, though my periods have been regular since then and doc says it should not affect getting pregnant. Anyhow, I'm sure I just have to wait this out, but always found shared stories and others thoughts comforting when I feel crazy!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oh Noelle, I wish you were right! Rats, got my period, but I'm thankful to have an answer. I ended up spotting a little bit more before it came on like normal......I think the ovary that had the cyst is the culprit as I usually never spot and could explain why I was a little bit late(but really, only by 1 day or so). Hopefully things will work out next month! Thanks to all who answered!

The waiting is the hardest part.
It might help to find ways to distract yourself so you're not thinking about it all the time.
Find time to watch your favorite comedy movie (or a few).

You should have had a positive test by now, if everything were totally normal. Usually I got positives as of 10DPO.

Something could just be funky. I'd test again in a couple of days. But I'd guess that you're probably not, if you haven't seen a positive by now if you're sure about dates.

You had a ruptured ovarian cyst in August. Your body needs a chance to heal.

I would wait one week and re-test. If you are in pain? Go back to the doctor as your cyst may have come back.

Good luck!

I had all those symptoms when newly pregnant with my daughter. When the egg implants it can cause the uterus to contract which leads to spotting. I thought I was getting my period, but no. 9 months later, viola! Pregnancy tests are not 100% accurate, especially so early in the process when hormones may or may not be at the levels tests need to pick up the pregnancy. So basically, you just have to wait and see:-) Hope it's what you're wishing for but if not, there's always next month!
