I'm asking that all prayer warriors and simply those who pray, pray for those in combat.
My Nephew is Aphganistan. Last Saturday they lost 4 men who ran over an ied. He was in the hummer behind them. He broke his hand when he hit the window out of reaction to what was going on infront of him. He called last night and said they lost another 5. Both times I saw this on the world news. Both times is was his medalion. He is in a heavy combat area in that those 400 prisoners were broke out. They are also trying to protect those families that these prisoners have taken over people's homes. They have made head way in recoving these homes but yet alot of work is yet to be done. My nephews first tour was last year in Iraq he lost 3 close friends then. Two in which he met in highschool when they started training with the Marines. I wish we could have stopped him from going but his parents feel like he is a grown man and let him make his own choices. He assured us that he prayed about this and that he feels God's peace in doing so. I asked God for comforting words this morning. He lead to a passage that reads "because he loves me I will rescue him; I will protect him for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon Me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will satify him and show him my salvation.
Please pray for all our troops we have lost too many and alot just this month.
Also these guys are begging for letters. They also have no way of bathing. We send wet towlets over to them. The only water they have out there is what the helicopters drop off to them, I'm not sure how they get water sent to them on base. We send the flavored water packets to them because water is all they have to drink. My nephews favorite is the viva splash tangerine and strawberry. Luckily that one is a multi vitamin. we send socks and underwear to them regularly because of the bathing situation. There is so much sand that it is impossible to wash them with the little water supply. So please if you have someway of reaching these troops do so. My nephew begs for letters, I don't think he even cares from who they just want a piece of home. Thanks guys for praying.

I'm adding this in today so I hope ya'll find it but my nephew likes boxers he wears a medium. I also forgot to say it gets in the 30's at night and they do wear under shirts. Okay yall I'm back on here is a website I just found http:www.anysoldier.com, it has a what to send section, how to send, and also info from the soldiers themselves on what they like to receive. superglue, and shoe goo.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Since I've contacted you last my nephew's unit lost another 4 guys Friday so thats a 8 total. They have been temporarily taken out of the battle front to await more troops to come join them then they'll train with them. So thanks for all of you who responded with such thoughtful gestures. Your love, support and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. I can't wait for him to receive his packages and brighten their day some thanks ladies.

I'm sure if you leave his name off then they will know the package is for the whole group. I also know the churches send stuff to a central location. Fairfield babtist in cypress on 290 did not to long ago I can call the church office and find out. Thanks a million yall. This is what makes us the most friendly and loving state. I'm very proud of Texas. Lol to bad we can't send Blue Bell Icecream. Here is one that will make you chuckle. When my nephew got out of bootcamp he went on search for BlueBell icecream in California. When he called he said I can't find any. I laughed and told him and your not silly they only sell it in Texas,Louisiana and I think Arkansas. He said oh.
Oh someone asked about underwear. Its a preference thing with the underwear. My nephew likes boxers but I'm sure there are some whitey tighty folks there too. Socks they have to wear black in the winter but when summer is here they can wear white which started in May.
Thank you again for caring.

if we were to send the socks and underwear, could you be specific about which kind, and where do we send them?

i hope that when he returns (well, all of them) that they are srounded by loving family. they must be kind of in shock right now to say the least, seeing so many people die. i shall pray too, and the passage you have is just perfect.

thank you

Thank you for your email. Do you know of a group that accepts food/clothing donations for the soldiers? Or an address to send them to the soldiers? I am happy to help, just at a loss of who to send it to.. thanks again.

Hello S.-

My thoughts are with your nephew and all of the other brave men and women overseas.

To the other responders who are looking for an address for the troops, go to this website:

http://amillionthanks.org/

They collect thank you letters to distribute to the troops.

I believe a lot of us are willing to send letters and care packages if you could send us in the right direction.
Prayers and hugs to them always.

Will definately keep them in our prayers. It takes a very special person to be in the military. Do you mind sharing where we could mail the care packages to- maybe a website that you utilize to find names so we can personalize the care packages?
