Podee

I used these with 3 of my kids and they were life savers when we were in the car or shopping. My boys would always scream to eat at the worst possible times so these would allow me to continue driving, shopping,etc and they would be happy. It is easier when they are a little older but I think I used them at 3 months old. I did hold my babies when we were at home or somewhere where I could sit down with them because I enjoyed the feeding experience but sometimes you just can't and the Podee bottles are lifesavers!

We had several and they are great. As soon as they can put things in their mouth, they should be able to use them. The great thing about them is they don't have to be laying down to drink from it. I used to put my kids in their bouncer or propped on pillows, and give it to them.

Also, if you do any traveling, these work wonderful! You don't have to stop for bottle feeding. I'd take a thermos of warm water to mix the formula with. I'd mix up a bottle in the truck and then set it in the seat with them and they could drink as we drove.

heres the thing you have to remember as important; you can use this device.. i spose... but not to avoid having to hold your baby while they are feeding. i realize you have twins, and its hard, but your babies need someone to be holding them and nurturing them while they are feeding, no matter how they are feeding. bottle feeding is more than just eating out of a bottle, its a time to be close to mom, and snuggle, and the more eye contact you give the more they will be able to stay awake and make it a fulfilling experience.

I know this probably isn't what you want to hear but using a hands free bottle doesn't seem like a good idea. Feeding your baby is an important time for bonding and assuring your baby that you will meet his needs. If you just stick a bottle in baby's mouth and walk away, they is no association between you and the comfort of eating. Your baby is more likly to become attached to the bottle as a security item. The baby will seek the bottle for comfort instead of you. This will make it harder to wean in the future. One reason that breastfed babies and moms have close bonds is because mom can't prop the breast and walk away. I know that you will do what works for you and your baby, but thought I would add my 2 cents.

Oh I absolutely LOVED the Podee bottle!!! My now 7 1/2 yr old daughter was born with really bad acid reflux, and eventually would start crying when she saw her bottle because the reflux made her in so much pain....once I found the Podee, and changed her to 2% milk (on the ok from her ped.) the reflux went away!!! The awesome thing about this system is that the bottle does not have to be moved, tipped upwards, etc. so therefore it eliminates at least 98% of the air bubbles from normal bottles, and it saves the child from having so much gas!! There is no trick to them at all....just pop the nipple in the baby's mouth, and s/he will know what to do =-D

My friend LOVED them when her daughter was young. Maybe 3 months is too young so I'm not sure about that one. Might have to wait until they get a bit older to keep it in easier.
