I need help finding a place to have my son's 1st birthday. I really don't want to have it at home & I was thinking of having it at the park in our neighborhood but recently found that it was all marked up with vuglar phrases. I know 1 year olds can't read but my 8 & 6 years old can!!! LOL It's not going to be huge, probably 10-15 people mainly family. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

The park at the Benbrook YMCA is great--definitely worth the drive, there is also a park near the zoo off of Forest Park Blvd. I usually do our parties at Sanguinet Park, corner of El Campo and Merrick--just off of Camp Bowie & I-30 intersection--it's not a Ft Worth Park, it's a community park that has 2 age level slides, teeter totters, swings, a merry go round and a huge climbing structure for the bigger kids. And it is fenced in so little ones can't escape easily. On top of all that, no graffitti and they have covered tables--just get there early to claim your spot (and not on May 24th--that's my soon to be 3yr olds' day)!

Depending on how far North you are, Keller has a couple of fab parks--one off Rufe Snow and Bear Creek Park is really nice.

Hi S.,
What about the local McDonald's, they do fun parties for that age. I would also maybe try a different park...there are so many in that area, I bet you could find one. Good luck!

Glenview Baptist Church has a great playground area...it's free you just pay a donation to the church, it fill up fast. I am not sure if they will have the date you want available but it is worth a try. I don't have a number, but I am sure you can just call the church.

Depending on where in North FW you live, Willow Creek Park in Saginaw is really nice. There is an area near the ball field (up Knowles and across McLeroy) that has a small playground for the older kids and a covered picknic area that you might have to reserve through city hall.
