I am looking for an indoor location to shoot my daughter's 2 year photos. We were going to be doing it at a park, but the with the weather being unpredictable in Texas, we need a back up plan. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm open to anything in the Dallas area. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for all of your suggestions! We were lucky enough to have no rain on Saturday, so we ended up doing the photo shoot outdoors at the park at Scottish Right Hospital in Downtown Dallas. If anyone ever needs a great location for kid-friendly photos, this is a great spot! The playground is very colorful and fun. My Daughter had a blast playing while our photographer captured her in her element. I look forward to seeing the pics! Thanks again!

The Eismann Center is a great location for photos. We took our Engagement photos there and they turned out great. It is a bit more industrial looking, but there are some areas with beautiful wooden walls. You can also go to the hotel next store and get some different shots in their lobby.

If the photo-shoot is a low-key production, then try one of the area's malls. They usually have ambient natural lighting through skylights that can be filled with the flash in the low-lights. Malls like the Galleria, Stonebriar and Grapevine Mills have some great architecutural and design elements. If you go, be there when the mall opens for less people. The right kind of camera lense will blur the background.

The Gaylord at Grapevine is always a beautiful backup plan. Scope it out & you'll fall in love with the decor. The lighting is always great & there are a lot of great "backdrops".

Some of my FAVORITE FAVORITE photos are taken in my own house. One in particular is of our son sitting at the very foot of our bed. It has him in focus and me & my husband are out of focus laying together at the top of our bed looking at him. You can see how small he is because he's on OUR bed, and though it's a photo of him we are all in the photo. It's sweet.
Another one is of us holding his hands, our jeans and bare feet are showing and he is looking up at us and we are standing at our front door. So we can see a portion of our house, a portion of us, but the focus is on him.

The top floor of the Galleria Mall .. It has a play ground.
If you get there at a little before 9am .. it is empty ( the mall is open for walkers)

but you need to be sure that you or your photographer contacts Mall security and let them know you will be there in advance..
