My mother in law passed away almost 3 years ago and I have all of her recipe cards she had received from friends and family. I want to compile all of these recipes into a bound book of some sort once I have them all in my computer - could take a LONG time. I plan on getting these books for my husband's brother and sister and his grandmother. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to have this done or if it is possible?

Thanks!!!!!

I am a consultant for Heritage Makers www.myrealheritage.com

I can help you design and publish a hardcover book. I also have templates available. All of the projects and photos you create through my website are archived FOR LIFE.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Kinkos, maybe. I know they do project binding and stuff. If they don't, maybe they know a company that might. Good luck. It sounds like a lovely idea.

The online photobook services have page layouts in some of their photobooks that are good for recipes. The one I am using at Shutterfly right now is the Martha Stewart lay-out and it has several specialty pages specifically for recipes (and you could add photos, etc.). Creative Memories also has this capability and free software to make a book on thier website. You could also use just the regular text pages without recipe-specific decoration. One you make the book up you can order multiple copies of the same book or slightly revise each one slightly to customize it for the receiver.

the best and easiest way to do this is to go to blurb.com....you can really make a great book for a reasonable price!

I made a cookbook w/ photoworks.com. I put a recipe on one side, and a picture on the other. If you don't want to put a picture of the food (since you need to make it for a picture) you could put photos of your mother in law with family members next to the recipies. Photoworks is kind of a pain to use, not the most user-friendly....but I have made books through them, my publisher and shutterfly...and the quality of photoworks is by far superior. Their prices are incredibly reasonable as well!
