We just switched to Con Edison and locked in 9.38 for one year with no penalties if we chose to switch to another in that time. I think the rate just raised a couple days ago but it's still low. My parents switched to Direct Energy but they are only locked in for 60 days, I think. They also have a penalty if they switch within the one year contract period.

U can chosse ur elctric supplier? I only know of Peco in my area.. And they are getting ready to have their rates jump around soon.. Something about no longer be caped..

An important thing that folks don't know is that when you are looking at the charts that tell you what they charge per KW hr there are also other hidden fees that you don't know about until you get the bill. There are the Fed Taxes, State Taxes and some other fees as well. It makes it very difficult to make an informed choice when you don't know what each company charges for maintenance etc..

My husband and I have decided to just stay with PP&L for right now. Some companies will charge you up to a $100.00 to cancel if you don't like their service. We are just going to wait to hear the feedback from other people who have switch before we do anything.
