Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician in the San Antonio med center area? Or even by Prue/Babcock or Prue/Bandera area? Thanks so much!

Northwest Pediatrics Associtaes on Huebner and Bandera ###-###-####. We saw Dr. Janet Noll for 10 years then she got too busy so I decided to switch to Dr. Amber Moreno. She is wonderful and they are located in a strip center so there is no parking fees. There are about 10 docs in the group to choose from and the staff is really kind and helpful. I have 3 boys 14, 12 and 2.5. Good Luck

I take my son to Dr. Laura Tamayo in Helotes right outside 1604 on Bandera. She and her staff are great! I have never had a problem with anyone there. The practice is called Helotes Pediatrics.

Southwest Children's is a great practice. It's been around a long time. Louis Purnell and Lanning Jones are great, they have different personalities. The office staff is lacking (not real attentive) but the doctors are tops.

hi K.
congratulations!
when we first moved here we went to Helotes Peds at 1604 & Bandera. Dr Laura Tamayo & Dr. Wendy Gideon. wonderful, both of them. but then our insurance changed....
so now...
we go to Children of Texas Peds, Dr Jose Clay-Flores and Dr. James Donnell, jr. Both began in a mega-practice and didnt' like that they couldn't spend time w/ patients, so they went on their own. have been in their own for over 4yrs at Bandera & Prue (i think? i may be one street off, it's town & country plaza, next to apple tree daycare and the little gym). they were recommended by the little gym staff, whose kids attend apple tree. i like the office staff, and we've been with them over 18 mos. when my hubby lost his job, their office manager recommended some plans to us, so we didn't have to change doctors, which was great, esp. with a newborn who needs shots and frequent appts.

all docs have meet & greet appts, like 15 mins where you can get a feel for each other and their style. when our first was born, we visited 4 diff places!

good luck!
K.

I agree with Lisa W, Southwest Children's Center has wonderful doctors...we use Dr. Tina Boylston and love her! She adds a personal touch...even though the office staff doesn't. It's a big office w/several doctors, right at Babcock/Medical (takes me less than 5 mins from Prue/Babcock). They are only closed 2 days a year and have Sat & Sun appointments. They have a "meet the Doctors Q&A" sort of thing that you can do before the baby's born.

My son goes to Dr. Juan Ferreris at Children First Pediatrics (near Health Careers High School). There are three other doctors in the group with him. All of the doctors that we have seen are very nice and the staff is very good.
