I don't know the name of the Dr. (even though I drive by the sign EVERY day!)but there is a pediatric Dentist on Rea Rd. near Ballantyne Commons Parkway. The sign is directly across the street from the stoplight that leads into Stonecrest Shopping Center (also across from the Chic-Fil-A.) There is a medical building on the corner, near an Exxon gas station. There is also a pediatric Dentist near Blakney Shopping Center on Rea Rd. outbound just past Ardrey Kell, on the right. ;-)

We use Dr Biehl on 160 in Ft Mill. He has young kids of his own so he is well aware of the quirks of the young ones. Our 5 year old has been to him since she was less than 2, of course, all he did then was to look for bunnies. But this last time, she did the whole cleaning and the flouride! Our present 2 year old won't even open her mouth to smile at him. Oh well, it takes time.

I take my children to Drs. Laxer, Long and Savage in the Stonecrest area of Ballantyne in South Charlotte. They only do pediatric dentistry. We see Dr. Savage. He is fabulous. The assistants are fabulous. My girls love going to the dentist. But I have never seen them push a child who was scared or uncomfortable into getting dental work. They are very patient and want to make going to the dentist a pleasant experience for everyone. I started taking my daughters there when they were 1.

I would not go to see Dr. Chuck in Rock Hill! I had the most horrible experience there. The staff that I dealt with, as well as him. My daughter has been going to the pediatric dentist in Gastonia. She hates doctors of any kind, but loves going to see them. The staff is great. It is a fun environment, just an overall wonderful experience each time I have been. Good luck!

Have you tried the ones in Ballentyne? There is a pediatric dentist in Ballentyne across from where Red Robin is. I think that it is called Ballentyne Pediatric Denistry...but I could be way wrong! There is the Pediatric Dentistry of Matthews also. I work in a dentist office and asked some of the girls if they knew of any. Let me know if you need others.

I just took my 20 month old son to Clark Pediatric Dentistry located in the Arboretum in south Charlotte. It is located across from the Wal-Mart at the intersection of Providence Rd. and Hwy 51. Dr. Jason Clark was terrific with my son who refuses to let anyone touch his mouth. Their office # is ###-###-####.

Hi K.,
I take both of my kids to the Laxer, Long and Savage practice in the Ballantyne area. It's a little farther drive than I would like, but they were the only practice that dealt with pediatric dentistry exclusively. Everyone if wonderful with the kids and made my 4 year old feel incredibly comfortable on her first visit. Our dentist in Ohio allowed parents to go back to the treatment rooms with their children. This prcatice does not, and I was a little concerned about that initially. My fears were quickly allayed when I saw how comfortable my kids were with everyone. You will be allowed to go back for their consultation once the cleaning/treatment is completed.

We have been going there for several years now and have no complaints. They are a little more pricey than my dentist, but it's worth it to have my children comfortable when visiting their dentist. Good luck finding the dentist that is right for your family!

In God's Love,
T.
