Hi Ladies- My son had his hair painted with some of the spray paint used to color hair, and before we could stop him, he laid down on our comforter and got some of it on the comforter. It's only one small spot, so I was hoping to spot treat it. Would something like spot shot be good to try? Any other ideas? Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Try Goof Off or Goop Off. It is good for fabric and pulled out paint and silly putty from a comforter. It is usually found in the laundry isle, on the top shelf. It is kinda oily at first, but it washes out cleanly. I had to use a white cloth and rub it in for a good 5-10 minutes, but the paint and putty came out as I scrubbed. A trip into the washer and dryer, the comforter was as good as new. And MOM saved the day again . . .

What special washing instructions does your comforter have? If it's just one you can pop in the washing machine, I'd spray some spray and wash or whatever stain remover you usually use and then wash it like I normally would. Make sure the spot is gone before you put it in the dryer, though, or it might set.

SOL-U-MEL will get it out…whatever it is. I used it just this weekend to get non-washable marker off the fridge and pen off the furniture. I use it as a stain lifter on clothes too. It’s amazing! For laundry, I use SOL-U-MEL to wipe away as much of the stain as I can before running a regular wash cycle and the stains always come out!

I use to be a GM of a hotel and had many painting accidents on my clothes. What I have used and worked great is this stuff called "Crud Cutter" you can get it at Home Depot -- It is used on all types of materials including fabrics. Good luck -- paint is so awful to get out.
