Decided to take a quick weekend trip to one of these 2. Any suggestions on a fun family place to stay?

What can I do next?

I personally like the Osage Beach area much better than Branson. It depends on what you are looking to do. If you have younger children, then Osage Beach..Branson is more for older kids, (not babies to toddler age)and adults. My parents have a timeshare at Lakewood Resorts, they are older condos, but each room has a lake view!

I would suggest the stilwaters resort in Branson, www.stillwatersresort.com we go every year and stay there they have condos with up to 3 bedrooms all with kitchens( so we would save money by bringing a cooler with food ) there is alot to do there as well, usually you can get a great deal during the off season (late August thru December) This is a great family vacation spot! good luck and have fun!

Kon Tiki is a great place to go! We were there over Labor Day weekend and it was a blast!

I HIGHLY recommend Big cedar Lodge. It's about 9 miles south of Branson and right on Table Rock Lake. It is sooo beautiful there. It's very secluded and it is in the woods. If you have kids, they have alot of childrens activity. It's just a very neat place to go. When we go we don't like to leave the grounds cause it is so pretty, but if you do want to go into Branson you're close by. Have fun! Let us know where you decided to go.

Hi A., I know I am a few days late on this one, but I had to tell you, in Osage Beach, we always go to Tan-Tar-A Resort. It is awesome, they have an indoor pool, and an indoor water park. They have a bowling alley, and all kinds of kids activities also. I have never been there on the 'off' months, we usually go there 4-5 times during the summer because we enjoy their outdoor pools and activities so much. If you don't decide to go now, I would definitely consider it for a summer weekend away.

We book all of our vacations through a website that is vacation rental by owner. They have accommodations worldwide. The cool part is you can negotiate rates, especially when it comes down to the last minute. www.vrbo.com

Big Cedar is a really, really fun place except they are booked solid this time of year. Maybe you'll luck out and be able to get in there. Even if you can't get a reservation, at least go check it out for future visits. You don't even need to leave the place -- everything is right there. We stayed in a two-bedroom cabin overlooking the lake and walked everywhere. Very nice place.

This place is right near Branson and was one of our picks, but we picked a campground (we have a fifth wheel) at Table Rock Lake instead. The wilderness has everything and looks like a real good time:

Have fun picking a place! Lucky girl!
