Opinions on "Threading"

I am overdue for an eyebrow wax and was at the mall and saw one of those "threading" places. It is cheaper than going in for a wax appt. but I was nervous to go in and give it a try without talking to anyone else who has experienced it. I was just wondering if any of you moms out there have every tried threading and were you happy with the results. Thanks!

i also had it done at Great Lakes mall - the only thing I noticed was that I had some redness and tenderness from the treatment right after and by the time I got to the car and saw my brows I thought that I might have looked a little strange walking around with red brows in the mall - otherwise the price and the treatment were worth it!

I get my eyebrows done at the threading shop at Great Lakes Crossing - it costs $10. I love it b/c I don't find it painful and it is less expensive than anywhere else I've gone for waxing or plucking. Give it a try, for $10 you really can't lose :)

I had threading done once and I won't do it again. It looked fine when they were done, but it hurt more than waxing. I like them to be ripped out quick and fast. Just my opinion.

I only get my eyebrows threaded, it last longer than waxing. It does hurt the first few times but not too bad. I get it done at lakeside and at macomb mall

Love it! So much less painful than wax. Just as fast! I hate the red from waxing. I don't have it like with waxing! Totally recommend it.

Go for it!!! Both my daughter and I have it done once a month (that's how long it lasts!) and we love it!!! I will not lie to you and say it's not painful, because it is, but the results are worth it! And to top it off, it takes less than 5 minutes and your done! Good luck!

Hi C.,
I'm with the majority, threading is great. I began trying to find someone the thread after receiving the email regarding wax holding the herpes virus. Although I confirmed it was not true, it did raise many concerns about them dipping the stick in the wax after running it across someone's lips...uughh! So now finally threading is in just about every mall. I go to Eastland just for that...I love their work, and the owner is very personable too. I think it's good for us moms too, b/c a lot of salons won't allow children, I am going to suggest that she moves her booth closer to the playing area. The mall is a one stop shop too! Good Luck!

I worked with a girl named Suri, who did threading, I loved to watch, because she does it so fast. None of her client's ever complained, but my oldest daughter had it done once, she said it really hurt, she's a tom-boy kind of girl. We offer waxing in my salon, 1/2 price with H/C, through mother's day, call B. ###-###-#### with FreeStyle Salon, each stylist run's their own bussiness, so I am the only one running the 1/2 off wax, at this time, prices & services vary from each stylist. Best of luck to you. I say try it, then you will know.

Hey there, I love threading my brows! I used to do it when I lived in the New York, there were so many places that did it because of the Indian population. It lasts a pretty long time too. I think it's less painful than wax imo; however, there is some pain involved. I actually just tweeze my eyebrows at home. There isn't a place close enough to me that does it. I know there's a place in great lakes crossing, and that's all they do...threading and nothing else. However, I'm not gonna drive all the way out there just for that.

Hi C.,

I did try threading several years ago- I don't think they did my eyebrows though; just my chin, upper lip, face. It hurt at the time, but my face looked great after. my skin was very soft and it remved all the hair. Ask them if they can be precise enough doing eyebrows.

threading is the BEST THING EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR!! you ever wonder why MEN of Middle east cultures are just so dang groomed sooo fine!! well you got it! threading! My next door neighbor is gratious enough to do it for me. Its best to REALLLLLLY grow those babies out first, its hiedious I know! but you wanna let them grow out FULLY for about 3 months before having it done9hair grows in 3 months intervals), its SOOOO worth it, they are MASTERS at shaping them both to not only match eachother, but have a perfect arc! Ilove it! it makes it realllly easy to maintain, BUT its More pain then you can imagine, its true. get your lip and face done too, you will be so happy, then after that scheduel family photos for the next few days after, cuz your gonna look HOT and fresh!!
Why so much Pain... because you had to wait many months to grow those bsbies out to get a good grip. you cant thread small hair, they need to be regular length. good thing tho, is for the first time in our lifes, our under lids will have zero little blonde hairs, it will be super smooth!
Good Luck, have Fun!! Well,,, after its done you will be happy!

I was real happy with the threading. Not to painful on the brows and they do get all the little hairs that you could pluck forever. I had the upper lip done and it was very painful, I would skip the lip.

I have had my eye brows threaded and it does not hurt, It is easier for the lady to thread if you have darker hair, I am very blonde so she had a hard time seeing my hair. But it is easier than the waxing because I can go out still afterwards without having red marks but my dark hair friends were very happy

Hi C., I have had and do still have my eyebrows threaded, it does hurt but not anymore than having them waxed and I think it last longer. If you can take waxing and plucking then you can handle the threading.

Hi!

I get my brows done at the "Threading Shop" at Macomb Mall. They charge $10.00, and I tip her 2-3 bucks.

I LOVE IT!

It is better than waxing because they can do individul hairs and shape the brows so much better.

It does hurt a tiny bit, I take one advil right before. But the minor pain is so worth it!

TRY IT, YOU WILL LOOK GREAT!!! =)

Have a great day,

R.

Love it! It's so fast and my skin doesn't stay red for as long as the waxing did. I have been using topical cream on my face that makes it extremely sensitive. Threading is awesome!!!!
