My family is thinking about getting them. Is it worth it or no?

What can I do next?

I Phones
I have the 3g, the prices on those have come way down. :)
Great performance, good apps, and easy synching between phone and computers (you don't need an Apple computer to synch with Itunes).
I had a Blackberry, and I loved it. But they are becoming more obsolete - about the only thing I really miss from it is the keyboard - those are wonderful, but I much prefer the larger screen on the Iphone, and the ease of use accessing email, FB, and internet on the Iphone. In, fact, I almost use it more than my computer for many things.

I-phone all the way. I have every doctor's phone number for the entire family and extended family for whom I care. All other frequently used phone numbers, like school, co-workers' lines, car repair shop, etc. Notes from the doc appt stored on it. Internet connection to find hotels and restaurants when travelling. Texting to a few friends and family when needed and at times with photos to keep up to date. A calendar to keep tract of appointments. Calling folks at the press of a button. Camera for quick snapshots of the kids for fun, but also for identification while on travel. I've heard of folks taking photos of closets to remember what is in them. I can't do without it. Do it.

Wow the mom that says $600. and $800 a month.. we have unlimited service on a Blackberry for way less than half of those amounts.

My husband has a Blackberry and has had one for years. He does all sorts of things on his phone and lives it. He likes the keypad. The photos are great and he can get all of his contacts emails etc.. on there. GPS, voice recall and even Voice changed to text.

Never had a problem with it.

We use Verizon because of where our daughter attends College, it gets the best connections and reception.

my son has a Blackberry. He really enjoys it, but it is definitely more business-oriented.

His next phone will be an Iphone. Several of his cousins now have one, & they all like them.....lots!

My husband and I both had Blackberrys for a long time, but we have Droids now. My biggest gripe about Blackberrys is that everyone always had trouble understanding me on the phone. Since that is a basic function of the phone, it was really annoying. It always froze up too. Plus, Blackberrys are fast becoming out of date when it comes to applications... not only is the sound quality for the phone and speakers awful, you just can't do as much on them as you can on a Droid and iPhone. There are so many apps now... you can do anything on these new phones... I would recommend getting one of them over the Blackberry.

I love mine, I am thinking about going with and Iphone next since they can do so much more and you get better quality of pictures and videos an going on line is like being on a computer. The blackberry was different but I picked it up pretty fast. I think it is worth it but we have Verizon and mine was free.

We got them because my husband always travels. The cost was INSANE. No matter how careful were, we would get $800, $1200, $600 monthly bills. Even if he wasn't out of the country, there was always some snag with the plan and the bill was still insane. We finally got rid of them and it's such a humongous relief. If you've got a big phone budget and don't use them for international calls, they're OK. I would only get a mega deluxe cell phone again if I had a traveling, important, 24/7 job and my company footed the bill. And in that case I would get an iphone.
