Who Has Verizon?
Hey yall!
I am in the market for a new phone. I want to switch to Verizon. Problem is that I know NOTHING about their phones. Looking on line can only go so far. I currently have a Sidekick. I LOVE having internet and email. Also important to have good contact database. Would like it to have a good calendar; perhaps to sync with computer? Or is that only available on palms? Sigh. So many choices. =)
OR I thought about getting a Palm Pre for internet/email/gps, calendar, etc. and getting a regular phone with text. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much!

I actually work for VZW and can provide a little insight...there are alot of phones to choose from. You can either get a basic device with an HTML browser - and I would suggest a Samsung Rouge. Or you can get a Blackberry or PDA. PDAs have a Windows Mobile Operating System which means it works similar to windows on your computer. Blackberry devices have the RIM operating system, which is really good, just gotta get used to it, which doesn't take long. Keep in mind that a PDA or BB device will need a 29.99 add on datat pkg that gives you unlimited internet and email. For the Samsung Rouge, it also requires a data pkg, but it starts at 9.99. If you really want internet and email, I would suggest a BB or PDA, because it pushes the emails to your device. I would suggest starting on the website, reviewing the plans avail, and for the phones, look at the reviews that other customers have posted, that will give you a good indicator of how good it is. As for me, my hubby and I have BB Storms and I love the email, internet, and the touch screen. Any more ?s just ask....

We have Verizon, and love it. Switched from Sprint almost 2 years ago. It saved us money, our phones have internet, calendar that connects to outlook along with all our contacts and the internet... Love it! Even if the price doubled we would not change carriers.

I had Verizon. It was allright. A little expensive at times but I had everything. You have to have really good credit also to be a part of that without a huge downpayment. I had phone service everywhere including by lower salt river (where I was going fishing) and in the newest parts of Queen Creek. I like AT&T but once again another credit check, hard to get in and we pay for minutes because of the plan. But I still get service everywhere including the middle of nowhere and I like my I phone(it IS all it's cracked up to be). Hope it helps :)

We have had Verizon for 7 years and have had very few issues. My husband has used a Palm Treo and a Blackberry Tour for his email/text/internet use. I have an Lg evV2 which I do a TON of texting with. I am switching, however, to a Blackberry Curve so I can get my work email pushed to the phone.
I would recommend a "Premium Retailer" over a corporate store or a kiosk, based on advice I got from a friend who works for Verizon corporate. The Premium Retailers have added flexibility in pricing, packaging, etc. and in my opinion are easier to work with. We prefer the store at Fiesta Mall and work with Drew as our salesperson.
Best wishes!

Don't get verizon! We had them before and there was always surprise bills every single month. So we switched to alltell and now that alltel merged with verizon guess what we got another surprise bill. We are switching to cricket because besides when they merged all our options on our plan didn't transfer over so we have to pay per txt/pic message when we had unlimited for like $20.

I have Verizon, switched over from Alltel a couple months ago; have a Blackberry that works very well, for all functions/applications you have listed. I have two email accounts set up, one being my work (with calendar). Overall happy with service, had been Alltel customer since 1999.

I've used Verizon for many years and I love them! I know nothing about their phones. My children and I have the cheap razor phones but they do great and last a long time. My hubby has a fancier phone for work. They have Verizon Stores where you can go in and they will show you everything and find you a phone that works for you. Good luck!
