Only Happens on Mamapedia...anyone Else Having This Problem?

Oh...it's driving me crazy! The minute I click on Q&A..I get this message "Mamapedia not responding due to long running script." So I wait a few minutes & get a pop-up that says "stop script" I click on it and it will finally let me click on a post/question. But...when I click on my back-arrow or on Q&A again to move to a different post/question...I'm back to the "Mamapedia not responding," etc. I am so frustrated! It's taking so long to look at even a couple of questions that I just log off. This has been happening for the last several days!

I'm sure you can tell I'm not the most computer saavy...so can any computer experts help me out & tell me what I need to do before this puts me over the edge! :) PS...it's not happening on any other web page...just Mamapedia. Oh..and I'm using Internet Explorer, Windows 7, laptop.., if that helps/makes a difference.

Thanks!

So What Happened?

I am 100% convinced this problem has to do with the annoying ads that are to the right and at the top of every post! The section for the ad is totally black or only partially showing..and when I click on stop script...the ad comes in full view. But it is slowing down everything from trying to read posts..to replying. I sent an e-mail to mamapedia..requesting they please fix the problem. If not...it's driving me crazy enough that I will be staying away from Mampedia until the problem is resolved.

I often have trouble with Mamapedia. But then again, sometimes the computer simply gets in a loop on a particular site and can't get out of it. Try emptying the cache and try again. (google how....)

ETA: and yes, Explorer is about as slow as they get...

You couldn't pay me to use Explorer!!

Try Firefox. I have never run into issues with mamapedia.

This happens to me, too, and just with mamapedia! I finally figured out that if I click on the refresh symbol, that helps speed up the process (a lot of the time, but not always). On my laptop, the refresh symbol is at the top right side of the tool bar, and is a curved arrow. Hope this will help you! Good luck!

I'm going to say the (dreaded) words my IT guy husband says to me... here goes...

Did you try restarting your computer? Clear your history? I know that for me, the Mamapedia site can be a little tetchy. So, I made sure to clear out any superfluous accounts on my laptop (because activating a third account for a visitor made it worse), cleared out my history, and it's working a lot better.

Just wanted to say that I am having the exact same issue. It's not you, your computer, or your browser. It's one of the stupid ads on here.

I have had this site do some crazy stuff but never saw that.

Try running Chrome.

I've also gotten that annoying stuff on FB! Here at home and on MP on the work puter as well (and I can change nothing on the work puter) Seems like it has come up on another site as well, but those two most often!

That does happen to me once in awhile (and I use firefox). Clicking "refresh" does the trick for me.
