I would like to get a nursing sling- to use around the house and also in public- so I need one that gives me coverage. I got a chico baby carrier that was supposed to be good for nursing but it is totally impossible to nurse with it on. TIA

What can I do next?

I love my Maya Wrap ring sling for nursing in public, and at home. The only problem I've had in public was with people who have no clue I'm nursing and move the tail out of the way to get a better look at baby! I figure if you're bold enough to touch my clothing, it's your own problem when you get an eyeful ;-)

Infantino slings were the only ones recalled, and if you look up a picture of them you can see how different they are from a sling like a Maya Wrap. Definitely apples and oranges.

I thought all slings had been recalled for the reason that the baby can fall asleep and suffocate in them. I had one 2 years ago and was able to send it back to the company, I wouldn't even give it away. I had an Ergo carrier and was able to nurse with that while carrying the baby, it has an attached cover for privacy...plus it's just a great all around carrier.

please don't get a sling-some have been recalled because of infant deaths-apparently the baby's chin drops too far forward and they can't breathe.

I love the moby and moby similar wraps!! Takes awhile to figure out, but once you do they are GREAT!

My kids are 11 and 14 so this info is old, lol! I had a sling from the LaLeche league. I copied a picture below from Amazon of the same kind. The link also shows a few of the many ways you can carry baby in this kind of sling. Mine was blue so my husband did not mind using it as well, something to keep in mind. I used it for a long time, to take with us when we did museums and such, in case they got tired I (or hubbie) could support them while they "sat" in the sling with their legs scissored around my waist. I was able to take walks while nursing with this sling, and even went to a housewarming party carrying my sleeping daughter.
