Ninja V. Nutribullet

Hi folks:
I currently have a Nutribullet, which is good, but am thinking about replacing it. I am looking for something that can make purees a little easier (not just smoothies). Also, it seems to have gotten louder in the year that I've owned it. I have seen the Ninja 1100 watt blender on sale at Bed, Bath and Beyond, for about what my Nutribullet originally cost me. Has anyone owned both? What were your impressions of whether one was better than the other? Thank you!

What can I do next?

We only have the Ninja. Husband loves it for his daily smoothies. I can't really say about other uses, b/c honestly, that's all we use it for. Every. Single. Day. And have for over 2 years now.

My only issue with it (aside from being insanely loud, lol) is that it is really large. I did not buy a unit with a smaller container to mix single serving size things (which, if I am not mistaken is what Nutri-bullet is specifically designed for, right?). Now, they make the Ninja with single serve attachments, but at the time we bought ours, they weren't available, or at least not at the store where I bought it (Bed Bath & Beyond with the 20% off coupon).

I have a friend who makes/mixes her banana bread recipe in it instead of using a regular food processor. Don't know if that helps you or not.

I don't know personally but my daughter has had the ninja for a few years and just bought the bullet this summer. Her and her boyfriend are tightwads so I can't imagine they buying it unless it was superior. I mean, they don't buy anything unless the research it and need it.

Just want to add, my daughter is not into foo foo smoothies, she is into the healthy ones so her main concern is fiber retention. If that is not your concern that perhaps the ninja is better.

We have the Ninja single serve (I think it's 900 watts). Prior to that we had the magic bullet. The Ninja is far superior to the magic bullet, we always had ice chunks left in the magic bullet and don't in the Ninja. Takes up the same space on the counter and the Ninja motor is far more powerful (loud, but fast). We looked at the Nutribullet when we bought the Ninja but the motor was less powerful and we had leaking issues with the magic bullet so decided to go with the Ninja and have loved it.

ETA - I also have Vitamix. Yes, it works better, but it also take up a ton more room on my counter and I have to pay attention to it- which at 6 am when I'm making smoothies for my kids breakfast before I've had my coffee is a problem for me (yes, I have turned it on with the lid off before, not pretty)

I don't have the ninja and although I do like my nutribullet in that it does blend smoothies pretty well... there are a couple of things that I think could be better. in terms of spillage, if the lid is not screwed on tightly enough, then the liquid gets inside and around the motor area. Not a problem in that the outside can be cleaned, but there is this plastic liner that separates the interior wall from the motor and IF you something leaks in between the fine crevices, you can't get it out... it doesn't contaminate your drink, but... it sure would be nice to get in there and clean it all out..
two.... if you want to crush ice and or frozen fruit that is as big as a strawberry, it takes a bit longer... and you might find small chunks that didn't get mixed in.. anything soft works like a dream... I ll continue to use it until it's broken... but once it goes.. I may try something else..

good luck

Ditto Suz. T. Vitamix. Nothing can touch it.
Wait for QVC deal, get the container that fits under the counter.
