Hi...I just moved here from out of state to live with my fiance. We are looking at starting a family after we get married in the fall. I would like to find a dr now to go to so I am used to seeing someone before we start the whole baby thing. :D Gender does not matter. Any suggestions? I live in Pelham. Thanks for the help. I am at a total loss as to where to go and who would be good.

What can I do next?

Dr. Edwards (male) and Mid-wife Ruth Keen in Salem, NH. They are located right off of exit 2 off 93. They are great! You can choose to see one or both of them! They came highly recommended by several people!

I use Manchester Obstetrical Associates. I live in Danville, and wanted to deliver at Elliot with my daughter, after having a HORRIBLE experience in Parkland when I delivered my son. My primary Dr. referred me to MOA, and I was sooo thrilled. All the doctors were wonderful, and even the midwife I saw a couple of times was phenominal. Elliot was great. Since you're in Pelham, it probably wouldn't be much further than a 30 min drive. It was 45 min for me, but well worth it for the quality of care I received, and for the whole experience at the Elliot. Good luck!

I would stay away from Evergreen Women's Care. I had my daughter with Becky Green, and wasn't crazy about her. Dr. Hubley actually delivered her and he was a little strange. I've heard good things about Dartmouth Hitchcock OB's, especially Dr. Martinez (I think that's her name). If you don't mind hiking it up to Manchester, Catholic Medical Center has beautiful birthing rooms and I love Bedford Women's Care.
Good luck!
Geeze - I just read all the other responses and the Greens seem to be well liked. I'm surprised. I ran from that practice as quickly as I could. I've even heard friends of mine say they made simple medical errors during their pregnancies. The nurses are great, I just really didn't like Becky Green.

Pelham isn't far from Nashua is it. I have a GREAT dr. Alan Green from EverGreen Women's health Care. They are right near Southern NH Medical Center, a great hospital with a great Birth Center. I delivered both kids there.

And if you aren't comfortable with a woman, he shares the practice with his Wife Rebecca Green!

You HAVE to use them, Alan is very sweet, I have never had a male Dr. before him, he was the best, kind, sweet, and I would HIGHLY recommend him!

Good luck with your family!

Hi J. - I think this drive would be too far for you - but then again, maybe you will move out of Pelham when you get married. Who knows?

My Dr. is Dr. Ted Hall at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Merrimack - right off exit 11. Not only is he awesome - like, really on the ball - but he is a family practitioner and has treated my daughter as well since the day she was born. I love him.

Sometimes I thought I should have a "pediatrition" (did I spell that right? I don't have one, so I don't know how to spell it!), but I have been so satisfied with Dr. Hall that is was always a passing thought... This guy is a brilliant doctor.

As far as OB/GYN, I highly recommend the Dr's Green as well, though they are opposite personalities. Both brilliant Dr.s, but it totally depends if you want a soft bedside manner... That would be Alan. Rebecca is also very brilliant, but much more matter of fact. I love Alan, my sister loves Rebecca.

Problem is, I waited years to get in! So call them now - I think it's still Evergreen, but you can probably find Alan Green in the book. Most of the time I see Rebecca Reddel and she's totally awesome as well (Nurse practitioner).

But whomever you see - call and get on that list now! I have heard you should avoid Horsley - just a word of caution...

And speaking of moving - if you guys want to buy a house, please contact me! I am a NH Real Estate Broker with over 25 years experience and I specialize in working with Buyers.

Good luck finding a Dr.!

I love Women's Health Care in Haverhill/Newburyport! They are FANTASTIC! All of my friends go there as well! Not sure how close the offices are to Pelham though?! Good luck!

Hi J.,

I go to OBGYN of Southern NH. They are a group which was something that worried me at first but I met them all during the course of my pregnancy and was excited to find I truly LIKED them all - not just tolerated but genuinely liked! Their main office is in Merrimack but the doc who delivered us, Kelly MacMillan (AWESOME), has office hours in their new offices closer to her home which I think is closer to your side of the pond so to speak. I can't remember the town so you'll have to check them out on line or call them. Good luck!
