Seeking Responsive Pediatrician

K.B. asks from Nashua, NH

I am looking for Nashua, NH's favorite pediatricians, preferably associated with St. Joe's hospital. My son has had a number of issues, including acid reflux, food allergies, chronic ear infections, and sleep problems. We've been through 2 pediatric practices, and while we're relatively happy with the doctors at our current practice, we have had a terrible time getting calls returned when our son has had allergic drug reactions, which makes me nervous. Any feedback from local moms in love with their St. Joe's docs would be much appreciated.

So What Happened?

Thanks, everyone, for your feedback. A number of you referred us to the practice where we go right now. After some discussion with my husband, we are relatively certain that the problem is less with the whole practice than with the one doctor who we've seen over this course of ear infections, who just stinks at returning calls. After no return call for more than 6 hours, we called the practice back and were referred to my son's regular pediatrician, who returned our call in an hour. We finally decided to stay put with the practice but avoid the particular pediatrician who doesn't call us back. Thanks again.

K. b, B. l here. I am reccomending to you with full honors dr. John kukay of nashua pediatrics/st.josephs physicians services. I have an 18 year old who has post concusive syndrome (an undiagnosed at southern nh concusion) which has caused him some pretty severe emotional and physical needs over the last 18 years. After dr. Sullivan (who retired several years ago, and i don't blame him as he was my pediatrician and i am 45+) diagnosed michael at age 12 (a god send to know what was wrong with him and what we should expect)my son began seeing dr. Kukay. He is uplifting even in bad times, the funiest most knowledgeable and caring doctor encountered in many stents with doctors in general. He can make you feel good even when you really don't. He always returns calls and takes my kids when we are in need. So, treating mike's headaches and allergy symptoms as well as general care/stitches and the usual illness' he has always reccomended qualified folks for my son to see when complications of his head injury become too much for his knowleadge field. I am thankful for having him in my children's lifes. My other younger son is add without the hyper part. He has severe allergies to bees as well. Taking on the various familiy histories, such as low body temp and high tolerances for medications is vital for the proper care of my children. His door is filled with the pictures of the children he cares for and he has recently added his own child's picture a new baby to his door as well. Another reccomendation if having a baby girl of any age, mine is almost 18 is dr. Page. She is just the best for gals and young women though she occationally treats my sons in emergencies as well. If i can be of any other assistance in your search let me know. Also, note that they take every parental concern seriously and always refer to reference material when symptoms are complex or medication needs are problimatic. Sincerely, B. l in brookline

I live in Milford and go to it's office of Nashua Pedi and see Dr. O'Rilley. We love him and he's very sincere. I think he goes to Nashua too. I believe the are assoc w St. Joe. You can probably schedule a consult w him to meet. Let them know you're switching Drs and would like to meet Dr. O. Best of luck....

I have used and my daughter still uses Dr.Frumkin at Dartmouth Hitchcock clinic. He was awesome years ago, and still is. He's gentle, compassionate and a great doctor. My children grew up with him as the doctor and now use him for their children. His office is right near the Nashua Police Station. Try him, you'll like him. I don't know of anyone who doesn't like him..

Hi K.,

Dr. Cara Mills is someone that I would HIGHLY recommend. Her office is second to none, whenever I called and needed an appointment, they got me in that day (sometimes within the hour). All of her affiliate doctors are outstanding as well. I NEVER had an issue with return calls...ever. She is located on DW HWY in Nashua, I believe Nashua Pediatrics, we had to switch doctors 2 years ago due to our BXBS of Massachusetts (I know have to travel to chelmsford!). At any rate, I would recommend her or anyone in her practice. Hope this is helpful.

I have Nashua Pediatrics and I think they are great b/c when you call after hours they are really quite on getting back to you. If you tell them it's a emergency then they will try to get you a nurse right away. I have had them for almost 14 years and very happy with them. I mostly go to the Milford office b/c I live in Wilton but there were times when I went to Nashua on weekends and they all seem very good. Good luck.

I bring my son to Dr. Charles Cappetta through Dartmouth Hitchcock, Pediatrics, on West Hollis St. in Nashua. He/they are always very attentive to both my son and me in terms of questions, concerns etc.

I've used Dr. Levi with Nashua Pediatrics for almost 21 years and absolutely love them. Sometimes I'm placed on hold for a while, but if it's a true emergency they usually get to me pretty quickly. I have 4 children and my daughter (who just turned 19) was really disappointed when she realized she had to switch doctors.
