Okay, so I'm in the mood to get back into cooking again. Now, that my daughter is a bit older, I feel I've got things in order and my three year old son is good at keeping himself and his sister busy. Where do people get their meal ideas? I'd love to try some new things and any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated! :)

You asked this a while ago, but I thought I'd help since I only just saw this now. I go to recipezaar.com and type in the main thing (chicken, noodles, beef, etc).
You sort of need a general idea of what you want, but there are thousands of recipes on there. That is the first place I go whenever I need a new idea.

I love Rachael Ray, her daytime TV show. YOu can go to her website and look up all her recipes. They are usually simple and don't take very long.

I get a lot of my meal ideas from Taste of Home magazine. I like it because it is more of the home cooking style. Also because it doesn't use "strange" ingredients. You know, the stuff that you have to go buy just for that particular recipe. They also have a web site www.tasteofhome.com that you can search for recipes with specific ingredients. Check it out and see what you think. Happy cooking:-)

maybe you could start a recipe circle. i would love to share a few but it is always nice to have new ones. maybe one week we could share main dishes, then the next week salads, then side dishes then desserts. or how about separating into beef chicken fish salads etc. what does everyone else think?

I watch food network and Rachael Ray. Food network's website is great because you can search for a dish by main ingredient (chicken, pork, etc). Other than that, I just talk to people at church. You could send an email out to your friends and family, and ask them to send you 1 recipe that's quick and easy for you to make.

Simple and Delicious is a magazine that we use for some of our meals. They are easy to prepare, and use ingredients that we usually keep in stock. So, no running to the grocery store at the last minute. Also, there is another magazine called Taste of Home. It has delicious recipes in it as well.

I am loving the deceptively delicious cookbook. I am sure you have heard of it but, the meals are actually sooooo good. I have made the meatloaf, meatball soup and scrambled eggs without anyone knowing they were good for you. And the bonus is it tastes good to me too even though I know spinach is hiding! LOL

Hi A.,

I LOVE familyfun.com I get almost all my recipies and fun family ideas from the site. The recipies are all catagorized in groups that help (for instance you can search by ingrediant or holiday etc.). They even have a monthly meal callendar. They have the best crafts as well.
Enjoy the new freedom!

I get lots of ideas from the Cooking Light magazine and website www.cookinglight.com . They have a great website too. I've been getting the magazine for years. It's healthy food that tastes great. My friends are surprised when they find out my cheesecake is actually "light", because it doesn't taste like it's light. When we try something new and decide it's a "keeper" I put the recipe into a binder with clear pages. That way I have a recipe book with all of our favorites. Have fun and try new things. Give the kids a few recipes to choose from and they'll be more likely to try it.

Hi A., I work full time (I own an insurance agency) and I have 3 kids and a soon-to-be husband so what I do is google things like "quick and easy recipes" or "easy dinners", "5 ingredient recipes", etc. and all kinds of websites pop up. Then I print them off and after trying them, the one's we love I put them in a binder under the page sorter so it's easy to find again. Hope this helps and happy cooking!

I have some great ideas! I own a company called Megan's Pantry. For over 2 years we have featured a monthly meal plan.

Each Meal Plan includes recipes for 5 meals (some of them include desserts!), Megan's Pantry ingredients that are included, plus a shopping list of the other items you will need (meat, veggies, etc).

You can go to https://www.meganspantry.com/mealplan.aspx to learn more. If this does not show up as a link, just copy and paste teh ENTIRE code into your browser window.

By the way....when you are on featured meal plan by auto ship (automatically gets sent and your card charged) for 3 consecutive months, you receive a $25 discount code to use on any purchase.

ALSO.....there's a way you can get a 25% discount on the meal plans AND earn money in the process. Ask me if you are interested!

If you have questions, you can call me at ###-###-#### or email me at ____@____.com or just send me a message here!

Can't wait to hear from you!
