For Christmas we are putting together a gift basket for my brother in law and sister in law. They are always hard to buy for so we thought we would do a gift basket with some gift cards and stuff in them. We thought we would do something like: Blockbuster GC with some popcorn for a movie night, Spring Creek BBQ with some toweletts or something BBQ related. What else could we do that would go along with that idea?? More gift card ideas w/ the small trinkets to go along with it is what I am going for. My mind is empty!! HELP!

What can I do next?

Can't remember the name of the place to save my life right now, but it's NEW and in downtown Grapevine on Main St: if you are coming from 114 it'd be a little more than halfway down the "historic" Main St on the left. They sell individual flowers or bouquets of flowers, fish, animals, all kinds of stuff. SO UNIQUE. They're made of wood, very delicate looking, immaculately hand-painted. Absolutely fantastic! I was going to make a gift basket with some local flavor for my out of state MIL and will definately be putting some individual "buds" from this store in the gift basket to dress it up a bit. My mom, ever the gardener, is getting a whole bouquet for the cold winter months. Definately a place to check out, I think!

Hi H.:

Some suggestions as I have done many gift baskets for various occassions.

If you can find out their favorite music, a CD is always nice or a DVD is good (just so you don't have all GC).

Starbucks GC, Assortment of Teas (if they like Hot Teas), golf tool or sleeve of golf balls, manicure GC, His and Hers Manicure Sets, Small fondue set (not electric) including chocolate for the fondue. Movie Passes, socks w/non-slip pads for in the house. Garden tools or gloves if they work in garden. If they enjoy reading, book markers, reading lights or maybe a favorite book or GC to book store.

Depending on their ages and what they do for a living, maybe notepads with their names imprinted. Something they could use at the office or in the home office.

The list is long but perhaps helpful. Most of these items are conservatively priced so you could get several things that would look great in a basket. Also, the basket alone can be a wonderful gift. I received a gift basket one year and I still use the basket.

Merry Christmas,

T.

For the female, I'd do a Victoria Secret giftcard, then put some fluffy slippers or really thick hot pink socks in the basket along with chocolates or homemade xmas cookies, hot cocoa mix(or hot tea bags), and maybe a pretty nailpolish, scented lotion...or even a scrubby thing. I don't know what they're called, but you know what I mean, the scrubby things we use to lather soap on? Anyway, Walgreens has the cutest socks right now that are about $3 a pair. Very cute and girly! I bought 6 pair and am putting them in my gift baskets. Macy's has the exact same sock for $8 a pair.
For the male, I'd do a Fry's or Hooter's giftcard, some homemade cookies, and maybe some aftershave... or a free carwash from one of those full service car wash places along with some car deodorizers. Men love their cars. :)
