Need Torrance Memmorial OBGYN Asap

I just found out that I am a few weeks pregnant and I need a great OBGYN and perinatologist that will deliver at Torrance Memmorial Hospital as soon as possible. I had a bad experience with my current OBGYN in September when I had a miscarriage and I would really like someone new. I am fairly high risk. My son was born 2 month early for unknown reasons, I have had at least one miscarriage, and I am in the over 35 category. I am afraid that my last miscarriage was caused by low hormone levels and I might miscarry again if I don't get to a doctor soon.

What can I do next?

Try Cristal Lynch - she was on call for my ob and delivered my 2nd daughter. I really liked her. I am thinking of switching. She does Torrance Memorial. Don't have the number for her but she is in Torrance (310).

Hi Maureen,

I recently posted a similar question for OBGYN referrals. I have posted below the responses I received. I hope this helps you find a Dr. soon.

Congrats and good luck!

I would like to recommend Dr. David Speiser. He is located in San Pedro now, across from the Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital.
He has been my OB/GYN for 20 years and I like him so much that I tracked him down in San Pedro after he left his Long Beach location. (The medical group he was affiliated with in Long Beach did not allow him to give forwarding info to patients).
He is thorough, patient and compassionate and I would recommend him to anyone - even someone who says they prefer female doctors.
By the way, he has 3 kids of his own...

You should call Dr. Mac (female) at Complete Women Care in San Pedro, ###-###-####. I've actually only seen her colleague Dr. Mueller, but half the women in my cul-de-sac see Dr. Mac and only has the best things to say about her. I wish I'd known about her when I was pregnant with my daughter!

I was really picky about having a female until my OB retired. I finally ended up with Dr. Scharffenberger, who is male, but amazing! He is the nicest, gentlest and most compassionate doctor. His partner, Dr. Pinkus, is supposedly super nice, and she's a woman. My retired OB said she's as nice as he is, but I like him so much I'm going to stick with him. Their practice is across the way from Little Company. Their number is ###-###-####.

Hey Maureen,
I am A Labor and Delivery Nurse at Little Company. So I know all the OBs. If you are open to calling me, I can help fit you with someone who fits your personality and needs. I feel I have a better knowledge base because I deal with most of these Docs on a regular basis.

Dr. Steven Rosenberg is absolutely the best! The # is ###-###-####. I was having fertility issues and was about to undergo my 3rd attempt at IVF when I started with him. He wanted to repeat some of the previous tests and then diagnosed my thyroid disorder. The IVF finally worked after I started on Synthroid and I've gotten pregnant on my own since then! I'm an RN and used to work at Torrance Memorial so I asked the L&D nurses who's good. I started out with Cristal Lynch also at their recommendation, but her office staff is very disorganized - at least they were 3 years ago when I last saw her. She also stopped accepting my insurance, but I wasn't told until I showed up for an appointment. Oh, and she refuses to see anyone who won't sign one of those stupid "I promise not to sue you even if you totally screw up" documents. As a general rule I don't sign those, but if the doctor won't see me without one I write "under duress" on the signature line before signing. I don't know if that would do any good If I ever felt I had to sue, but it's never been questioned by any medical office I've been to.

hello..
dr. rosenthal is a good obgyn and his office is right next to torrance memorial..

My OBGYN is Dr. Donna Richey in Torrance. Her number is ###-###-####. I love her! I just delivered August 2008. I know she delivers out of Little Company, not sure of Torrance Mem. Good luck!

Dr. Steven Rosenberg. He is in the clinics next to Torrance Memorial. He is a great OB/GYN. I was a high risk with my first baby and I felt very comfortable. His staff was even great. They take care of everything for you.

I love my doc, Dr Donna Richey. She's at 4201 Torrance Blvd ###-###-####. She delivers at Little Co and Torrance. She recenlty was awarded the best doc in the South Bay by a doula association. She has a wonderful bedside manner and is very knowlegable. Tell her I sent you! Good luck. A. Reggie

As far as an OB/GYN goes, try Dr. Loius-Jacques or Dr. Donna Richey. They are more laid back than most therefore, are great for high risk in that they don't treat you like a high risk patient. In fact, they probably will never actually call you that.
I am also "high risk" and am pregnant with my second and I have been to a couple of different perinatologists. I absolutely love Dr. Scott Naylor. He is the best I have seen. Go to him if you can, you will love him. Check out his website (www.pacificperinatal.com)
All of these doctors are in Torrance across the street from Little Company but, they all deliver at Torrance Memorial as well. Hope this helps!
