My husband & I have Friday nights to ourselves & we need to spice things up!
We are very normal, not classy & have a tight budget. We live in Richardson & we'd like to do things close by. Do you have any ideas on what we can do together?

Thank you for any help!

So What Happened?

We went to Fox & Hound in Richardson on Friday night. I was real impressed that it wasn't too smokey. Plus there were a lot of pool tables that were open for play.

We go to the Shops of Legacy area in Plano a lot. Martini Park is a lot of fun. A good sports bar is Fox Grille in the same area. Fox has a pool table in a separate room but that room is one that is reserved often for parties. Those 2 places are not smokey, clean and nice people. (I have not found these places to be snobby or uppity) Of course, if you look hard enough, I am sure you will find that type just about everywhere at some point.

Carsons in North Dallas had a pool table area when I was there last and I believe there is no smoking there as well. It is not as nice as Martini and Fox. You can get something to eat and dance as well.

My hubby and I made a point to always have a date night and we have done that since our daughter was 6 weeks old. She is now 12. Have fun! Susan

I've been to the Fox & Hound in Lake Highlands (LBJ/Skillman) and it was fun, but it was smokey. I am hyper-sensitive to smoke, so it was a bit aggravating.

There is an email alert group that you can join for Dallas-area event discounts. I have deleted all the email so I don't have the sign up info, but if you're interested, let me know your email address and I'll forward an example to you next time I get one. I've been to various plays and concerts for a fraction the price. Various venues have open seats they want to fill, so instead of getting no money for them, they sell the tickets for $5-10 (instead of $45-90 or more).

Good luck!

If you enjoy dancing, Gloria's in Addison is a great restaurant that also offers a live band every Friday and Saturday. I enjoy it a lot every time I go with hubby and friends. the music is great.

Do you like wine tasting? There are several new wine places that you can sit on patios & sip some wine; they usually have other beverages too. Most places have cheeses & appetizers also.
