My mom and MIL will be hosting my baby shower. They want to have something a little less formal (for my wedding shower, they had it at the hall that I had my recpetion at) and reasonably priced. I live in the Algonquin area and they live in Villa Park/Lombard area so it could be anywhere around or inbetween those areas. Does anyone know of any restaurants, etc. to host a baby shower? They were thinking of having like a chicken salad sandwich for lunch or something like that. I need suggestions!

What can I do next?

Le Berry Bistro in Geneva has a really quaint room and serves sandwiches and salads at a reasonable price. They are located in downtown Geneva on Third Street.

Hi,
I second the Millrose!! great location.. great EVERYTHING! I looked at many restaurants too and they were the best everything. I would even have a wedding reception there- that is how much I was impressed with them.

We had my daughter's bridal shower there at it was absolutely wonderful. There is a fee to rent a separate party room (we had the room upstairs.. The stockyard I think was the name of the room.. with a pretty fireplace.. excellent excellent attention and service,..they provide the table centerpieces and did place cards free of charge. It was in the fall and they decorated everything beautifully.. all included in the room fee)

but maybe you all could do the Sunday Brunch and get a table on the main floor and avoid the room charge.Depends on what you want to spend and how big your party is and how much privacy you want..

The bakery they work with.. Peterson's tasty bakery was the BEST CAKE I have ever tasted. I checked out all of the area bakeries.. and I mean ALL of them.. ha! Deerfield's in Schaumburg and Ambrosia in Barrington to name two..and this cake was decorated so pretty and it was affordable..

And there was no delivery charge for them to deliver it to the restaurant which was AWESOME..I didn't have to juggle a cake to the event.
we have a very picky family and this place impressed EVERYONE!
good luck and have a wonderful time no matter where you go.

The Village Squire in West Dundee. They are very willing to work with you on a menu and they have a back room that you can request. I had my baby's Baptism party there for about 35 people. We had apps, pizza, and drinks (soda and alcohol). I brought in my own cake, too. We spent under $450 and guests left with leftovers. It was very nice.

I have attended a baby shower at Mill Race Inn in Geneva. It was a very nice luncheon. Not sure on the cost. We also had my rehearsal dinner there several years ago and it was also very good, with good service.

I had my baby shower at Del Toro's in Huntley. It was great and they have a nice separate room that was completely ours. Raul (the owner) had a great spread of food and it was perfect.

I recently hosted a baby shower at Jimmy's Charhouse in Elgin right off the 90 expressway. It was fabulous! Closer to the Villa Park area, Za Za's Tratoria in Addison would be a nice choice as well. Have fun!

Hi N.,
Congrats!

My mom and MIL hosted my baby shower at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club in Glendale Heights. They offer a luncheon option of croissant sandwiches, which includes a choice of appetizer or salad, rolls, pasta salad, drinks and dessert. If I remember correctly it was about $11 a person. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Their website is http://www.glendalelakes.com/

One of my SIL had her baby shower at the rock bottom brewery in schaumburg. They had a separate room for parties--I'm not sure about the pricing but it was a nice room and the food was good.

Hi N.,

First congratulations on your new soon-to-be-baby.
100 South Chophouse in Elmhurst has great food. I have been to a lot of parties there and never have been disappointed. They have a couple different rooms to choose from and you can fit up to like 90 people... I think. We always talk to Richard to set up the parties. It is on York across from the train station. I even know the number...###-###-####.
Have fun!
