Bridal Shower Location Recommendations!

Thanks again to all of the ladies who responded to my post on recommendations for table favors.. I'm looking for recommendations for a place.. restaurant probably... to have my daughter's bridal shower. We are looking for something interesting.. many of the places I'm finding are so dated.. and very expensive.. I went to the seasons of long grove and chandlers chophouse.. and those two didn't work out..for various reasons.. My mother n law is helping me with this and wants it to be at a restaurant of sorts. We are willing to go to Palatine.. Schaumburg.. any of the northwest suburbs really.. I live in Cary.. and she lives in Palos Heights.. so if anyone knows of anything down by her too.. that would be great!
Thanks so much everyone!
Sincerely,
Pam

I had two showers, one at the The Barn of Barrington and one at the Lakeside Inn in Wauconda. The Barn has various rooms you can rent based on the amount of guests. The service and food was great. The Lakeside Inn is less formal but the upstairs room is beautiful with all the woodwork. The food is so-so but I really enjoyed the ambiance. (Had my son's baptism luncheon there as well!) Good luck!

Pam,

We recently had my sister's bridal shower at Wool Street Sports Bar in Barrington. It was very reasonable and the food there is GREAT. Don't be put off by the "Sports Bar" part. The private room is all by itself upstairs and has it's own washrooms. We were so happy with it that I'm having my son's 2nd bday party there in June.

The only requirement is that you guarantee a $150 food bill.

Mindi Green is the party coordinator and she's great to work with. Their phone # is ###-###-####. Seriously, even if you are in the area head on over and eat there. Their food is AMAZING.

I know a few places near Palos Heights.... Chateau Del Mar is on 95th Street, just west of Roberts Rd (in Hickory Hills). It is gorgeous, but pricey. The floors are all marble. There is also The Old Barn, which is in Burbank on Central and State Road. It's a nice little restaurant, and it's not too pricey. My cousin had her baby shower there no too long ago. There is also a restaurant in Justice on 83rd (ish) and Roberts Rd called Szoratka's. It's a cute polish place that has a hall in it's basement. My mother-in-law was the hostess of my baby shower there.

I also agree with Millrose. We recently hosted my daughter's baptism there and they were wonderful. They do everything for you including placecarde, centerpieces, etc. Our second pick was Asiago at the streets of woodfield. A little further out, there is Sergio's at Irving Park Road and Rt 53 (Rowhling) in Itasca.

Good Luck

I've attended a few showers at Brass Restaurant and Brewery in South Barrington (www.brassrestaurantandbrewery.com). The have a private party room, the staff helped to make the day go smoothly, and the food was good too (chose among two or three entrees). I believe it is across the street from the Barn of Barrington so if you are going to check that one out at the suggestion of another poster then you can this one out too.

I love the wellington!!! Also, what kind of person is your daughter? Is she fun and a little crazy, then maybe Ed Debevics in Downers grove would be great. Does she love a certain type of food, is she vegetarian, then Chowpatti is AMAZING!!!!!!After all it is her shower so play into her personality. Since we are having a 1920 theme for our wedding, we are having the shower at tommy guns in chicago!!!!It is a theme restaurant like ed debevics. But you should look into the arboretum or the botanical gardens. even brookfield zoo!! There you can rent out the buttertfly pavillion and have lunch there!!! Check out their website!!! Good luck. and sorry I read your profile after I responded to you, so tell me about your daughters wedding.

Emmett's in West Dundee?
Savannah's in Barrington (havn't been there, but have heard good things. It used to be the Eclectic and before that the Greenery - in a cute old house in the downtown area)
Barrington Country Bistro (on Rt. 14 in the Foundry)

The Wellington in Arlington Heights was very good! I attended a bridal shower there and it was very nice. I also recommend Maggiano's either in Oak Brooke or Schaumburg. I attended a wedding reception there and my own rehersal dinner was there. Great food and environment. Also, The Rennisance hotel in Oak Brook had a nice facility and food and was reasonably priced. Good luck!
