Hi K.,

How about getting some cheap, plain white t-shirts or tanks and fabric paints and everyone can make a t-shirt?

Have Fun & happy b-day to the 11yr. old!

Okay, this is from my days but it's messy fun that gets everyone laughing. You need a BIG chocolate bar, winter hat, scarf and gloves, a pair of dice, a fork and butter knife. Girls sit in circle and take turns rolling. When doubles are rolled that girl has to put the winter gear on and try to rip open the candy bar using only the fork and knife and eat as much as she can before the next doubles get rolled (doesn't take long). Silly but fun!

I love the first one I listed - also great for scouts and other gatherings of kids. It has 85 birthday games listed, 175 kids party games and 100 teen party games as well as bridal party, couples, etc.

Ive had groups of kids come to my house playing the "Bigger Better" game and they seem to really love it. You split the kids into 2 groups and give each group a bottle cap. They have to go door to door (maybe only 6-7 houses) asking to trade up for something bigger and better. Certainly make sure an adult is with them and no one goes inside any house but they will be excited to see what people will give them to trade for an item. Everyone has stuff they need to get rid of and sometimes the item the group has is somethng the next person actually wants! I gave the last group a big tall white wicker cabinet I planned to get rid of in exchange for a wooden bar stool with a piece of plywood nailed on top and ended up painting it black for my son to keep his motorcycle helmit on in the garage. Its the silliest thing youve ever seen but made us all laugh. It was also very funny to see this group of girls walking up and down the street carrying the wicker cabinet, singing and laughing. Im sure they wont forget that game anytime soon.

We just had a party for my 10 yr old...there were a few 11 yr olds there too, and everyone seemed to have fun. We played games like Twister, Bingo, and air hockey. I got them t shirts and fabric paints and they made their own t shirts. We filled water balloons and they had a water balloon toss/fight. We also had a badmitton net up and they played that and some volleyball over the badmitton net. The party was 3 hours long, and we had no problem filling the 3 hrs with all of those activities. The t shirts were kind of expensive, but I considered that the favor, and they didn't cost much more that the junk you usually buy for a pary bag. Anyway, good luck!

When I was little, my aunt did this for one of my parties & we loved it. Bake a few single layer cakes & get white frosting. Split the girls into teams. Each team decorates their own cake with food coloring added to the frosting, gumdrops, sprinkles, M&Ms, etc. Then they get to eat their favorite cake.
Have fun!

I also have two wonderful daughters ages 11 and 14. Jinx! :o)
Both of my daughters like to have their friends help decorate the cake as an activity and their friends always say that is their favorite part! We just make a sheet cake and frost it with a layer of plain white frosting. Then we make a second double batch of frosting and split it into 3 or 4 bowls and color each a different color. Then just put a little of the colored frosting into separate zippy sandwich bags and snip off a corner and you have several cake decorating bags ready to go. Get ready for some sweet, sticky fun and giant towers of pink and green frosting!

I always liked the idea of "Cake Charms" they are little charms you can place on ribbon /string and have them baked into a cake !!!! It's fun to see their expressions as they pull out the "prize", or "lucky piece" or perhaps one could take it further to incorporate a "game" into it . Idea: maybe have the piece suggest a type of performance ?, sing, draw, act somewhat like a charade game??? Then film the whole thing and provide a video/player show for all!!! to enjoy and make copies of such a "disk", and send it home as a favor ??? Just a creative idea letting the girls have a "Girls Night " of their( age appropiate ),.OWN !!!! lol!!!!An Old Fashioned "quick" paced "Simon Says" game is always fun!!!,.. when you have all the girls stand and the Simon says ,"caller" incorporates some of the latest dance moves that the girls know !!!! To watch them goof up is FUN for all and each loser asked to depart from the competiton (so to say), receives some sort of a "Booby" prize . ,... like an odd looking necklace, hairband,or sock set,.etc(Dollar store level items)... Be sure to get photos of all who are out(losers) to share,.. and then create a collage later to send home as a favor /nice remeberance of a GOOD TIME for "Just The Girls "!!!!On a very SPECIAL BIRTHDAY!! Good Luck !!! Oh I always do believe in healthy snacks offered with fun ones of course ,... but I have noticed there is less "sugar" fall out" of the young girls and they seem to really have the most fun of their time together. !!!! Have a Wonderful Memory of a PARTY !!!!

Do a pamper, glamour party for girls. You could do hair, nails, dress up etc. and do a girls fashion show -complete with a runway and prizes for all.

Good luck!

Kids are so computer hooked... try this old favorite to get them open to something new. I did a scavenger hunt when my daugther was that age... they loved it... break them up into teams... make a list of things they can get on their own without bothering the neighbors. However if you have cool neighbors allow them to only go to those... so include those addresses only. Set a time limit and watch them hurry off in search of things. Here are some suggested items. 3 squares of white toliet tissue, two rocks, a stem from an evergreen, bark, blade of grass, a flower, dental floss 2inches, one baggy, a twisty, one dog biscut, a piece of junk mail, pact of mustard, etc. it can go on and on.. give them 30 min... the first team back with the goods wins the prize(s)!

NOt so sure about games, but having them make their own mini-pizza's or frost/decorate their own cupcakes is usually a hit. Or do teams for a cake decorating. They get to have fun in the kitchen, be creative, laugh alot and eat their work.

Knots is a fun game: everyone stand in a circle. cross your hands and reach in the middle. Take two different people's hands across the circle and not next to you. Without letting go, "unwrap" the knot until there is one big circle (somtimes two!, again. Lots of giggles in that game.
