My kids have been given an assignment to dress a paper doll in traditional dress from our heritage. My son would like to focus on our Danish background. I have been all over the internet, looking for pictures, but to no avail. Does anybody have any idea where we might find some examples of traditional costuming? Thanks!
The Library was an excellent source of information! I don't know why I didn't think of that. Have I completely forgotten that the internet isn't the only source of information in the world? Was interested in what you asked for so I got online took a look around and found this sight:

When you get to the sigh there are alot of different regions to look at but the location you want it just about 3/4 of the way down on the web page. It isn't much but I hope this helps a little bit.

Have you tried the library??? There are times when good old fashioned library research is needed. I too have danish (My maiden name is Sorensen) heritage....Perhaps I should do the same, I have no idea what traditional Danish wear looks like! Good luck!

I know everyone is for the internet but try the local library. they have pictures that are authentic for every nationality. Good luck and have fun!!
there is a small book store in warroad MN that sells paper dolls with different dress like that, i have a spanish one and a french one. so fun :P lol

Hi my name is M. and I thought this may help you out or hope it helps out. There is a little Danish town in Cali. Called Solvang they have a website at www.solvangusa.com. once there you can look around to see if you see the type of costume your looking for if not there is a "contact us" link on the page and I am sure if you tell them you would like to see traditional clothes and tell them why they should send you some pics. I've been there and its beautiful and they have a museum full of traditional Danish heritage. SO hopefully you will have some luck there.
