Looking for Great Online Site to Make Photo Albums

Last year I made a baby book using Shutterfly. It is a good site and good quality book. It seemed to get kind of pricey since I wanted to do more pages than what came standard. I also had to use some repeating backgrounds that really shouldn't have been repeated but I had too many pages not to. (They were baby milestone specific.)
I want to start doing an annual album but would like more layout/design options and more pages. Does anyone have any recommendations on sites they have used and loved??
THANKS!

I love artscow.com. They have a TON of great deals. Shipping sometimes takes a while if you are getting a popular item, but sometimes it only takes a few days. I think it is in Japan or something. Anyway, they just gave me a FREE 40 page photo book! Sign up with them and see the deals they give you! They have a ton of layouts and lots of options in designing. I did Shuttefly once, and it was good, but this is my new fav site. I've done books and calendars on it. They even have bags, fleece blankets, ties, you name it. It's really cool!

I started off using Snapfish and switched to Shutterfly after a year for the same reason--price. It WAS getting pricy. Shutterfly is very similar to Snapfish as far as price AND layouts go, though. Limited. The books I've made from both look exactly the same, you couldn't tell which was which. You can't always get the EXACT layout you want from either and that is frustrating. Sounds like maybe picaboo or whatever these other gals have recommended might be worth trying.

We have a lot of different book sizes as well as other products, please feel free to contact me if you would like more information.
My website is www.storybooktogether.com if you want to check it out online. Also if you contact me I can get you a better rate on the products then what is listed online :)

My sis-in-law swears by Snapfish. I haven't tried it yet; I'm still using Shutterfly for now. She does a lot more photo albums/calendars/etc than I do, and she says she gets really good prices.

Hope that helps!

Stampin' Up! just came out with digital software. You can use premade layouts or create your own. The software includes thousands of images of their backgrounds, colors, stamps, ribbon, embellishments, etc. So your digital book can look just like the paper ones. I haven't used it yet but am ordering it this week. It looks fun. Besides photo albums, you can also make calendars, cards and scrapbooks. Then you can either have it printed from their printer or do it yourself from home. Good luck finding something that works for you!

I use snapfish to print everything! Have you thought about maybe starting digital scrapbooking? I'm just barely starting that, and that way you can upload the pages to snapfish for them to put them into a book and you can be as creative and original as you'd like. I like the Scrapbook Max program it's pretty user friendly. Also, check out SMILEBOX.com they have tons of free layouts then you can upload to snapfish to print :) good luck! beware though, the digital scrapbooking thing gets addicting ha ha

Heritage Makers is also a great place with many options, if you pay for their premier membership. The books are great quality, but I admit that they are really pricey.

Try Heritage Makers! We have THOUSANDS of background templates, embellishments, journaling fonts, you name it - you are not limited at all and the books are very professional. I used Shutterfly, Snapfish, Kodak, all of them and this is by far the best. So good in fact, that I signed up to be a Rep with them for the discount but EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, we also offer the ability to make posters, journals, decks of cards, all sizes of books (i.e. brag books, etc.) even jewelry - all from pictures stored on your computer, just point and click/drag and drop!

Please feel free to browse my website - and create a FREE account - you are under no obligation. Go to the template "GALLERY" to check out the many variations. You can COPY the templates and use as your own, just pull your pictures in!

That's so funny you ask, b/c I was just a friend's photo book her MIL made. She had both a soft cover and a hard cover with tons of text and different backgrounds. She said she used http://www.blurb.com And cost as little as $5 with free software. No, I am definitely not a salesperson of the stuff like I see some other post-ers, just a mom who wants to capture memories w/out spending a lot of $$. I am downloading the software as we speak and can't wait to try it.

On another note, I always post pics for out of town relatives on Kodak gallery, they can view and even order themselves and have it shipped direct to them. I have also made a few photobooks on the site for my mom who loved it. I have to say it was pretty easy since I already have all my pics on there, but they don't have a lot of backgrounds or layouts to choose from. If you decide to do it through Kodak sign up for their newletters, it seems like something is always on sale and if your order is over $5 it ships free.

I've also done on snapfish, but find that they don't have enough backgrounds or layouts.

I use creative memories for my digital and traditional scrapbooks. You can download the free software online at creativememories.com, but it's like snapfish--you are limited in what you can do and create with the free version. I have the 3.0 version ($80 i think) and you can do anything imaginable with it! If you are planning to make lots of digital books, as I am with my 3 kids, I would totally go this way. Also you can purchase CD's or downloads that go with the software to change the theme. Their digital line follows their traditional line. For example, all of the papers, stickers, embellishments are available digitally AND you can use them over and over again. The downloads/CD's start at $4.00 and go up to $36.00. But, once you download the free version, you get lots of things already included, so it's not like you HAVE to buy the extras. Also, you can make books with predesigned templates. Check it out, it's great. I can get you hooked up if you want to, just let me know!

I have a few things for you. One, Walmart uses Snapfish software, and basically you get a Snapfish book at a discount. I believe it comes out to $1 per page, even for more pages. That's the best price I've found.
Costco also does books, but they're a little trickier to use. You have to download software, etc. And Walmart was less expensive.
Artscow has great prices, but I don't think they have very good graphics. You can look into them, though.

Now, if you want to fully customize your books, you can get into digital scrapbooking. I know a lot of places to get free supplies, and even software to use, so you can try it out COMPLETELY FREE. You create your pages any way you want to, add as much writing as you want, and customize absolutely everything! Then you get them printed as a bound book at Viovio (there are other places, too) for about $1 a page. You can even design your own cover!
I think I was looking into getting my pages printed at Artscow, too.

If you want to get into digital scrapbooking, I'd be more than happy to send you to the right places to get started. I LOVE digital. There's no mess, it's much less expensive than traditional, and it's just plain fun. I never could get into paper scrapbooking, but this is a wonderful hobby!

Creative Memories has a great program called Storybook Creator 3.0 -- just this month the new 3.0 update came out. It is awesome. I am a CM Consultant so may be a little biased but the feedback from customers is that it is just as good or better than some very expensive programs out there. The software costs $64.95 and you can make Storybooks in a variety of sizes, softcover are cheaper than hardcover. You can also choose to print the pages individually and put them in a photo album. You can choose from a wide variety of pre-designed pages in various themes (digital kits are available for purchase at low cost) or you can design your own pages. Let me know if you have questions about this product. You can learn more at www.mycmsite.com/lesliepowell . Good Luck!

Costco uses my publisher. You can just go to their, Costco's, and go to the photo link and you download the software then it is really quick and easy to make without having to upload everything one at a time. I make books every year for my four kids and this was the nicest I have found and they are really priced well. I do the hardback book and love them. They have stood up well to my kids looking at them all the time.

I have used Picaboo in the past and love it! In fact I am gearing up to make a photo album for my mother-in-law for Christmas of all the grandkids. It's easy to use, has tons of options on covers, sizes, backgrounds and everything. They start at $9.99 and go up to some ridiculous amounts, but those would be for things like weddings, milestone anniversaries and such. Good luck!
