Baby Book, HELP!!!

Do you Scrapbook? Or would you like to? I started scrapbooking when I had my first child (he is 9 now) and I love it.

Also, I am a third child and my baby book is not even filled out. I decided to scrapbook my kids books that way there are no blank pages only a book full of photos of them and stories about them. We now have family books too and the kids love to look at them.

I've read some of the responses, and you've got some great suggestions. If you want to design your own baby book with computer software, Creative Memories has some great templates in Storybook creator that you can download and use for free in a static form. If you want more flexibility you can purchase Storybook Creator plus and design your own pages. You can print multiple copies of the book if you'd like. More traditional scrapbooking can be done with CM books and the persona imprinting has tons of designs for the front and spine of the book. I am a scrapbooker and I have ideas running through my head. What and adorable name! I finished an album for my SIL (she had a boy) but was easily able to make it to her size and color specifications. My daughter loves Jamberry. I don't know who wrote it, but it does come on both paperback and the hard pages (great for a baby since they tend to rip pages). It's very rhyme-ee an the pictures are preciuos. My daughter goes straight for that book every time we are at grandma's.

I don't know of any books with a Daisy on it!

I have a 3 month old baby girl who still doesn't have a book. I understand how difficult it can be. My 2 yr. old has a beautiful Beatrix Potter book made by Gibson. Although they do not make the same one any longer they do have lots of other type of baby books. I have found a site called babysakes.com and they have a great selection. Now just trying to decide on one is the hard part!! Good luck with your search! (I found when doing a search type in "memory baby book" and it helps narrow it down)

Hi M.,I'm not sure of a book with a Daisy to recommend to you but just a comment. Of course you want to read to your baby every day! But realize that they don't even pay attention until they are closer to 1. Read her anything! Read her the morning paper or a magazine you are looking at. My son was closer to 16 months before he became truly interested in books. Keep up your hunt for the daisy book but realize that it doesn't matter what you read to her and even if you find the daisy book, it will be meaningless for another year or so.

Try looking on www.barefootbooks.com. They have great books.

I can think of one way to narrow it down. Some books are only for the first year, and some go up through age 7 or so. You might want to look at shutterfly or some of the other photo web sites and compile a book online a little at a time. I wish I had done that with mine. Instead I have envelopes full of pictures and things that still need to be put in a book.

Hey M., I found both of mine at a Hallmark store. Most of the stores have a baby memorabilia section near the wedding stuff and sometimes you can find some nice appropriate books there. They can be a little pricey but I think they were both worth it! The one I have for my first daughter is pink and white stripes- the fabric on the front looks like ribbons. It has a small silver picture frame attached to the front so I was able to put a small picture of her in the hospital in the frame. The inside is very delicate and has a lot of the areas to put her important milestones plus a family tree section and then a picture album in the back. Anyway, hope it helps! Congratulations on your two little girls! I have two as well and they are such fun!! :)

I know this isn't exactly what you are wanting but if you go to Pottery Barn for kids. You can get personalized books with their full names on it...The girl book is all about flowers and fairies. The boy book is about animals, I think.

My kids love anything that is personalized...their towels, books, songs, puzzles and cups ect.

There is an awesome website that you can make your own baby book and then they mail you what you made. It is awesome, kinda like online scrap booking. Go to! www.wherestorieslive.com and you can design a book. There even classes that you can take to show you how to make them. It is free for the basic package but if you want more things you can sign up for it. I just have the basic. It works for me, but everyone is different. You have to sign up for it. And it does require a consultant ID or an email address to put in. here is the email address since I don't have her ID

Go to a craft store and make one. They probably have everything you need to make your own baby book. I did see one not so long ago at Target I believe with flowers on it.
I got both of my kids one at Babies R Us, one was girlie and for my son boy like. If you want it to be specific I bet a scrap book place or Michaels, Hobby Lobby could help direct you and it would even be more special if you made it yourself.

I do Creative Memories scrapbooking and love it! They have lots of options for digital books, or more traditional scrapbooks. And they have some kits that make the "baby book" part of it really easy, with places to write specific things, and room for photos. There is a lot of felxibility, and they are beautiful! I don't have any specific books in mind, but I've seen a lot of pre-made scrapbooks at Michael's and even Target. All you do is put your photo in the slot and write in the journaling area. They're not specifically for babies, and you don't have areas to just fill in (my son has one like that), but you could write down whatever you want.
I'm a digital scrapbooker, so I haven't bought my 2 year old a baby book. I'm making him one on the computer, then I'll get it printed at Viovio.com. The covers are customizable, too, so you could put a daisy on the cover. But it's a whole new hobby to learn and work on, not nearly as easy as a fill-in baby book. My friend gave me this one when my son was born. it's called Humble Bumbles Baby Journal by Amy Meyer Allen. It's cute and whimsical. No daisy on it though. I just loved it when I saw it. It is spiral bound, very important!! It really sticks to the basics of what you might want to write down and remember. I looked at baby books for a friend and liked this one the best so I got one for her. I found it at Barnes and Noble. I think I've seen it on Amazon too. Good luck! Hope this helps!

If you are creative, you could always make your own. If you do any rubber stamping, you can combine it with scrapbooking, and turn out some really cute stuff. My sister made me a baby book for my daughter like that. I think it took her a long time, but it is unique, and she chose colors I liked and everything. If yo look at a scrapbooking store or even somewhere like Michael's, you can fine the supplies you need.

Lift-the-Flap Books by Karen Katz (she has several: Where is Baby's Belly Button?, Where is Mommy?, Counting Kisses are some of the good baby ones). SHe is a fun artist who uses lots of color and patterns; you might really like her.

Usborne Books (tons of great books--you can find them online at http://www.kidsusbornebooks.com/. Just ignore their attempts to get you to sell the books; you can still just order them online.

Anything by Margaret Wise Brown (Goodnight Moon and The Big Red Barn are favorites of my daughter)

A book called Good Morning, Good Night, (I think it is by Melanie Mitchell) which has great pictures, good rhyming text, and soft textures for baby to check out. My daughter loved (still loves!) this book.

There are some more that I just can't think of right now; I'll look at home and email you some ideas tomorrow. :)

Also, check out your library! I don't know where you live, but the Lafayette Public Library is great, and the children's librarians are soooo wonderful about helping you find the type of books that you want. Plus, I love when I check out my books and it's FREE! I keep thinking I'm going to have to pull out my credit card, but instead I just hand over my library card! Wahooo! Great way to try out different books and see what your daughter likes.

I have 4 daughters, and my youngest is now 3 1/2 yrs old. At that age I can tell you none of them really liked board books, etc., BUT they all LOVED the "noisy" book . . .you can get them at Babies R Us and I may have even seen them at Target. They have about 5 or 6 pages . . .some of them make a "crunchy paper" sound which you squish them . . one of the pages in ours had a button inside the page we would push and it made a little bird sound . . .the ends of some of the pages had plastic nubbies so they could chew them . . .the LOVED to chew them! The BEST part is you can throw them in the laundry when they get dirty! I had to get a new book for each girl becuase they enjoyed the heck out of the them!

My brother has triplets and they make the cutest baby books themselves. It sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't and it is a lot of fun. If you go to Shutterfly.com you can pick your book size, color, what graphics you want on the cover and back of the book and arrange your pictures however you want and you can include text-dates, descriptions etc. I think it is pretty reasonably priced for what you get and you created it yourself. It comes to you like an actual book - hard bound and everything. And they store it on your password protected site in case you ever loose it, want a copy for family etc. And your photos can be stored on there in case you want to use the same photos for another album. It is really a great site.
