Just a little rant, has nothing to do with you, but why can't PTA stuff be done in the evenings? I am a work out of home mom with a kindergartener and I would love to become involved in the PTA meetings but they are done during working hours. Working moms aren't any different than SAHM in the sense of how involved they want to be with their kids school stuff. We just can't afford to not work. I have been able to offer my time to help my son's teacher at home. She gives me workbooks and stuff to separate pages etc and then return to her and I feel good about that at least.

Anyways, off my soap box now, sorry for hijacking your post. But I hope you find something to help you balance everything. But bigger issue should be for PTA's to understand that not every child has a mom that can stay home and attend meetings during the day.

Hi Carmela-
Although you mentioned not selling a "product", I think you may be interested in my business. I work with Usborne Children Books and they are looking to expand in South Florida. We have books for infants up to high school. We work largely with moms, school book fairs and libraries. Being active in the class rooms, the PTA, and with your children is a huge benefit that would help you earn money. Please check out my website www.Books4youngminds.com and e-mail me at ____@____.com and
I can tell you more about the opportunity.

I started my own business selling children books. I love this because it gives me the flexibility I want, the money I need and am helping children by supporting literacy!
Please check out my website www.Books4YoungMinds.com
I would love to give you more information.

Hey Carmela! I know exactly how you feel I was in your same exact shoes over 2 years agao. Fortunately I found an opportunity that I allows me to work from home using my computer and phone. I am a stay at home mother of 2 (ages 5 and 2). My husband works 6 days a week and I do not have much help in the area of child care for my children. On my journey to finding the right work from home opportunity I tried everything from selling vitamins, lotions and many other product based companies. I also looked into processing information online. What I realized with all these companies is that I usually put more money back into my business and ended up with lots of product I really did not need. I also was very skeptical of some of those online work from home websites that really never got to the point of what I would be doing to earn income.

Finally, I was given information on a legitimate work from home company. At first I was very skeptical and paid no attention to the information. Then one day my mother needed to have some dental work done but had no insurance. I remembered that I had some information on discount dental plans. Once I researched the information I had been given, I realized that I could provide my mother with a way to pay less for her procedure and earn an income for signing her onto the discount dental plan. I have been with the company since and am on the fast track toward building a 6 figure residual income.

If you are interested in learning more feel free to visit my website at www.CareerOpportunityPlus.com. You can also listen to our detailed overview call at ###-###-#### and then call me at ###-###-####.

If our opportunity is not right for you then I wish you best in finding one that is and I am sure you will find it.

Warm Regards,
L. B.

I have been contemplating the same issues:) I want to stay involved with my children's Class's/PTA. My husband was irritated that the all pro dad's met in the mornings...since he works too. They now have 2-3 dinners instead of weekday breakfasts, etc. I have recently went back to college at SPC for ESE Education...but am taking mostly online classes and still need to make some money somehow! I was thinking about offering tutoring/mother's helper/babysitting services on Craigslist, however, I have came across some scary situations posting on Craigslist. Where else can you post locally though?? Another good response to your question was to substitute teach. In Pasco you just need a HS diploma...in Pinellas you need atleast 60 college credit hours. My husband actually teaches at Clearwater High and says that good subs are very much needed.

Sorry that I don't have any answers for ya'...but I felt the need to let you know your not alone! LOL

Hey Carmela

Try being a substitute teacher..some counties have a list of schools that pay as much as $100 per day...it's school hours so you can be back when your kids get out of school and it's part time. You might want to get some recommendation letters from your PTA president and or the Principle of the school if you can. I think all you need is a HS diploma...check it out. Just an idea...Good luck
