Need Help with a Superhero Sorta Name
I am in the middle of writing a novel. Having a hard time coming up with a name for one of my characters. He will be a six footer broad shouldered, dark hair, grey eyes flecked with blue and green, dusky complexion and young probably around the 18 year mark. He will be strong and a telekinetic, deadly accuracy with aim. Ok what name fits that description?
Ahh need to add, this will be a real name...not like Superman or Wolfman....lol
So What Happened?™
Thanks guys! I like Zane and right now it's a toss up between that and Chance.
Riley, Yeah, I know. But this character really isn't too essential to this story yet, he will be for the next book. So since I am not really focusing on him too much, it's been hard to come up with something! The other characters name came so easy!

I like Dirk and Zane. I think the one-syllable sounds good. I was thinking Cael/Kale or Kane or Dane. Oh I like Colt too (just saw that one). I saw a name on a billboard today I thought was interesting: Shad. Good luck!

Just keep writing. I often end up scrolling through several names for a particular character and then one just sticks. For myself at least, if I have to THINK of a name, I'm not plugged in enough to either the story or the character. Some good old fashioned bum to chair (or staring out a window running scenes) usually fixes that.
What's great about computers is the "Find & Replace" option. Doesn't matter how often Person A has been Frank, Lloyd, or Mr. Wright... you just hit find and type in the replacement! Zap! Love technology!
((I first started writing on a typewriter)).
And sometimes it's fun to keep a hated name. After all... our parents named us. Having names that don't suit characters is an old trick in keeping reality humming. Keeping a hated name just ends up as a periodic quirk. The nickname that supplants it, the raised eyebrows of other people/characters, the childhood fights (you want that kid beaten up / street smart without coming from an awful family or living in a poor area, give them a name like Percival or Whitney), etc.

Javelin (Javy) -- A javelin is a historical Biblical term in which they competed in the Olympics. The throw was always precise.
Please let me know when you finish. I would love to read it.
