Need Great Potty Training Dvd

We're looking for a potty training dvd that works great. We have "Potty Power" but it's not doing anything to inspire my son to use the potty. We think he likes it just because it's the only dvd we let him watch. I also don't like that it uses the "you're a big kid not a baby" as a motivator, because we've never talked with him about that and it doesn't really do anything for him. I like the potty book we had from the library from the Sears, which talks about how it feels when you need to go and what to do. I would love a dvd that incorporates that type of teaching.

Does he like Elmo? Elmo's potty time is fun, with lots of songs and cartoon bits and what not. My almost 2yo loves it, and although she isn't quite ready for full time potty training, she has learned to tell me when she needs to go poo-poo!

We had a tape of a little boy at his 4th birthday party, and how he was a big boy and ready to potty train, my mother in law bought this and showed it to him before I saw it. The problem was he insisted on waiting until he was 4 just like the boy in the movie. Beware of what your child watches, he may want to duplicate it exactly. My son was more than ready to train and went thru a year of pre-school without an accident, but he was going to follow that movie.

I have to agree. The Elmo Potty Time DVD is great at getting them excited about the potty. My almost four year old still likes to watch, which is great because my almost two year old ought to be thinking about training in the next year. The songs are catching and I find I sing them to.

We love our Elmo potty time DVD...for us though I think it is a bonus that we have the exact potty chair as on the DVD. But non the less both my kids loved it.

We had the "Elmo's Potty Time" DVD that was really laid back and mellow about the whole process. I think I paid about $8 at Walmart for it. In fact, the first time my daughter peed on her potty seat was when we brought the seat out to the family room and let her sit on it while she watched the Elmo DVD. After that it was a done deal!

We used Bear in the Big Blue House Potty Time dvd. My daughter watched it for months before she was ready and it was really great when she was ready and she still watches it for the other stories that are on there. It was a winner in our house. I think we found it online.

We also bought every used potty book that was being sold at garage sales or libraries and she read them for months. She is now four and still wont let me give them away!

Good luck

We reall liked Elmo potty. I dont' think there was a lot of talk about big kid now stuff. I didn't want to have that kind of talk either! Just encouragement, and that is what this movie did. I really enjoyed watching it too!

We've just been potty trained for a month now. Our daughter is just over 3yrs old. She had been so stubborn, we tried about 6 months ago and were doing good, then she decided that she wasn't doing it anymore and would just pee anywhere she was, not even attempting to go to the bathroom. We had her help clean up and explained that that wasn't ok, but we eventually let her back into diapers, and tried again a month ago. We potty trained in one day. She has had only 1 small accident, but it was because she couldn't get her pants off. She has not worn a diaper day or night since. We didn't use any DVD's, but did have a couple books and just lots of praise and encouragement. So I'd say hold off if he isn't interested because it will make it so much less a battle.
