I have been looking around online but can't seem to find anything...hes not really into super heroes, we already did the pirate and the army thing in the past years... any ideas or things you did for the 6-8 yr range? The party will be at our house. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Maybe you don't need to do a theme?
Decorations...balloons, streamers, signs, and a cake from Costco (or somewhere else) that has colorful balloons (or something else) on them. As long as it looks festive I don't see the reason for it to be a theme! It's a lot easier that way too.

Without question--LEGO! It's the age for it. Look online for party ideas and at Toys R Us they have packs of Legos for party favors. I even found Lego candy on-line.

How about a party with balloons and cake and ice cream and pizza, chips & pretzels without a "theme"?

When my nephew turned 7 (and again when he was 9), he had a camping party. They didn't actually sleep outside, it was just the theme of the party. When the kids arrived, they picked up a scavenger hunt sheet and an empty goody bag. They had to use the clues to find their own goody bag items-- play compass, plastic canteen, candy etc. Then the kids did an obstacle course. (Post an adult at each station.) BIL had a canoe. Kids would run to the canoe climb in and then toss a blow up ring around a target. Then they had to use a sling shot and a peanut (in shell) to hit a paper target that was hung up. Next, they had to pack camping type items into a backpack and zip it up. Lastly, they had to fill a canteen with water and then run and pour it in a bucket. The kids were divided into two teams. They ran the course officially twice and luckily each team won once. But after that, the kids kept running it over and over and over. They loved this part of the party! After the obstacle course, they roasted hotdogs. (They had lots of adult supervision.) After eating dinner, serving cake and ice cream, and then opening presents it was starting to get dark. My BIL had put a white sheet on the fence and set up a movie projector using his computer. The kids wound down and watched the movie before going home. They had a big tent set up. The kids ate their dinner in there and played in it throughout the party. My sister heard the kids (girls and boys) say more than once that it was the best party they had ever been to! I can't wait to do this party for my son in a few years! Happy Birthday to your guy! Whatever you do, have fun!

how many kids are you having? you could do a puzzle party. make the invitations and then cut up like a puzzel so the kids have to put them together to see all the info. then have a scavenger / treasure hunt at home to find all the parts to bigger puzzel (maybe 40 pc or so) have a puzzel race to see who can do one the fastest. mix up a couple puzzels and have them work on them in teams. give out little puzzels in the goodie bags. you can do puzzels of whatever he likes. no big mess, no big fuss. just some fun. this won't work if your having 15 kids but if its only 6 or 8 it would work. my kids all loved puzzels

If he's into Legos that would be cute...just wanted to add a cake idea for that theme if you decide. You get a loaf pan and 3 or 4 cupcakes and place them on top, frost it all the same color to make your own lego piece cake!
