Hi my middle child is turning 7yrs old. I am having his party at our house. He wants a LEGO theme birthay party. Could you please share your ideas with Me? I always purchase the cake. Including my 2 other kids there are a total invited. Thanks. C.

What can I do next?

You could make the cake look like a giant lego! Bake a 9x13 cake and some cupcakes. Place 8 (2x4) cupcakes upside down on top of the cake to make it look like a giant lego!

Use primary colors (red, blue, green, yellow) for plates, napkins, balloons, table clothes, and streamers. Maybe put a lil Lego guy in each goody bag. Buy the big bag of mega blocks (giant size legos) and place a few in the center of tables maybe stacked up as center pieces! And of course a lego themed cake. Gosh these ideas make me wanna have a Lego themed b-day party! Lol

We just had a Lego party for my son turning 6!
When the children arrived, they built a radio tower. When my son thought it was tall enough, he played a pre-recorded message that said "join me in the dining room for cake and "BUILD" your own sundaes". After cake, they built their own race cars and raced them on a track that my husband built. I got a ton of wheels from Lego.com for $13, and then some basic bricks too. They got to keep their cars as the favor. (We had Play Doh too for those who got bored or didn't really like Legos). We did a pinata too, but the Lego one is not that great. We thought of doing a scavenger hunt to find the pinata, but there were too many kids.
We decorated with bright red, yellow, blue and green streamers and my son built "cool" Lego stuff and put around the house. For the cake I made 2 rectangles and iced one blue and one red. I stacked them on top of each other and on top of them I put 6 mini-muffins to make the top look like a Lego - they looked liked 2 Legos stacked on top of one another. I put a candle on each bump and my son put some Lego guys on too.
Good luck and have fun!

what about getting some lego kits and have a contest as to who can put something together the fastest. No prize, just a fun game .

I'm not sure exactly how to go about it but maybe this website can direct you: http://www.firstlegoleague.org/Default.aspx

Perhaps you can obtain a Mindstorms Robot kit or two and challenge the party guests to a several robotic challenges. Who knows?! It may spark enough interest to form a Junior FLL team in your area!
