Hi I am currently looking for a really nice place to host a baby shower. Money is not important just as long as the place is nice. This is my sister's 1st baby so I want it to be memorable and somewhat over the top! To give you an idea of my taste, so far I am looking into the Liberty House Restaurant, Madison Hotel, and Crab House. Two years ago I had a bridal shower at Arthurs Landing in Weehawkin. Any and all recommendations are welcome!

What can I do next?

Check out the spain inn located in piscataway. I had my sons baptism party there and it turned out wonderful. The food was excellent (they set it up buffet style) and had a great party room. I believe there is 3 different size party rooms to accommodate different size event's. Good luck.

I have had several events at the Spanish Tavern on Route 22 in Mountainside. They have a private room downstairs and they totally cater to you. The best thing to do is a "family style". In the past, I have had family style parties which give the guest so much great food. They provided guests with Paella, Filet Mignon and another dish (chicken or veal). They also give the guests family style vegetables and the spanish chips (potatotes) plus you pick out appetizers also. Each table also had sangria and included in the price is soda, house wine and of course the sangria. You can bring your own cake or what I've always done is have the guests pick (they will give the guests usually 3 things to pick from). They have the best service and will even give you any food leftover to take home. Prices range but well worth it. You can even make up your own menu and they will accomodate you with whatever is you want. Again, I myself have had several parties there and have been to many there. I love it there. My daughter had the best communion party every! They have a website too. Make sure you go to the one in Mountainside though. The prices may seem high but everything is included so it's well worth the money and the food is so good! Good luck.

hi, i just HAVE TO suggest Johnny Carino's italian restaurant. ###-###-####, it's in piscataway on centennial ave...not sure if they have others in YOUR area...but they DO have others. my mother had thrown MY baby shower there, and it was excellent! they have the BEST italian food i've ever had! being italian, i'm VERY picky on eating italian in a restaurant. the food is great, and they let you put up whatever decorations you want. it's really a great place. good luck, and congrats for your sister!

la Allegria in Madison was wonderful for my rehearsal dinner and did a fantastic job for a friend's formal birthday party. I love the Madison Hotel too. They have a catering department that hosts events at off site places too. If you wanted to go into the City you could try a place in SoHo called Barolo. I held a friend's bridal shower there. Depending on the season, they have a beautiful outdoor area. They did a special menu for us and were incredibly gracious.

Good Luck and you are a star to do this for your sister!
