Suggestions for Tea Party Baby Shower

Hi All,
I am looking to plan a very girly tea party for my sister in law's baby shower. We live in Oak Park and I would like to find a location within the area. Any suggestions? Obviously, a rest. or location without a rental fee would be ideal. As for guests....I would guess under 20. Thanks a million!

What can I do next?

Thank you so very much for all of the great suggestions! We decided to have the event at Hemmingway's Bistro on Oak Park Ave. They are making tea sandwiches and treats....I can't wait.

What about Girlicious in Forest Park on Madison Street? It doesn't serve food but I bet if you talk to the owner/manager there you might be able to work something out. It's VERY girly in there with lots of cute stuff.

I don't know of any places to suggest but I did go to a baby shower with a tea party/breakfast brunch theme and they gave away fancy tea bags decorated with a tag that said "Something's Brewing". I thought it was a cute idea for a favor.

Hi,my sisters had my baby shower at the Peninsula hotel chicago, it was very very nice and a more modern tea service. I have had tea at the Drake hotel w/c is more traditional as well as the Russian tea room. Another idea is to hire a caterer and you can host the tea party. went to one like this and it was great. a chef named Dave Jenson catering, chicago did it.
good luck.

Know it's not in Oak Park, but threw a lovely tea (hats encouraged) for a wedding shower at the Drake Hotel.

I went to a tea party bridal shower at the Drake in Chicago that was really, really nice.

There is a new tea shop in downtown Elmhurst, but I don't think it's open yet, and I don't see it on the Elmhurst City Center website.

I had lunch a couple of months ago at a restaurant in Long Grove and I noticed ladies wearing historical hats and I asked our server what that was all about. She told me they have tea parties. I can't personally say if the little sandwiches were good they looked good! I did a google search for you to tell you the name and number..... here it is...

Restaurant: Seasons (of High Tea) ###-###-####

The website I read says that private rooms are available for the Mad Hatter Tea Party for 16 guests or more. I am not sure if you have ever shopped in Long Grove... It is a pretty place to shop/browse with friends. Cute shops.... quaint shops....

I hope this helps.

I believe the Peninsula Hotel does tea parties. You can check out other hotels downtown as well.

The Drake is the best and ultimate girly - I threw one there for about 20 people, when you call to make the reservation tell them its a baby shower and they will set up a gift table for you next to your table.

I think there is a tea room restaurant in downtown Downers Grove, and there used to be one in Naperville (Jefferson tea room).
