Naples & Fort Myers Beach

Hello,

We are planning a trip to Florida in February. I've been to Fort Myers Beach a bazillion times (not in the past few years though). We've never been to Naples, but are looking for somewhere to go with a pool(family friendly) and be able to walk right out to the beach. We are looking into beach houses in Fort Myers Beach. Opinions on Cottages of Paradise Point?

Can anyone suggest somewhere to stay in either place? Condo, cottage, house. Or other Florida beach front cities that are nice. Not so much a hotel (maybe a kitchenette). It will be easier with the baby to eat in allot.

Or other Florida beach front cities that are nice.

Hi L.!

I do not know if you are interested in the Panama City Beach area, but we stayed at a brand new facility this past summer called "Shores of Panama". It is in one word - FANTASTIC!!! It is a beachfront property and each unit overlooks the 20,000 sq ft lagoon style pool with Tiki Bars AND the ocean. The beach is just a few steps from the pool. We had three other families with us - all with kids ranging from 2-13. Everyone loved their condos...here is the link to the one we rented, but you can find several more at www.vrbo.com....

The couple we rented from did a great job decorating their condo and making sure it had everything we needed.

We stayed at Edgewater Beach and it is was beautiful. You have a full kitchen, eating area, living room, seperate bedrooms, and it is on the beach. I would highly recommend it. Good luck and have fun

I used to live in both Naples and Fort Myers, I love the area! Although, since I lived there...I don't know a lot about vacationing there! My favirote beach ever to go to on the weekends though, is a private beach in Naples behind the Registry Hotel. The Registry is kind of pricey...so I don't know if you want to stay there, but even if you don't you can still use the beach (Clam Pass Beach is the best in Naples!) for $3 I believe!? You catch this little train like golf cart from the parking lot, that pulls seating behind, and it goes over this long bridge made of recycled milk cartons...through these woods and swamp...until alas you land at this private secluded beach...which is Clam Pass..it has picnic tables, concession stand, chairs, umbrellas, and shallow wadeing area for the little ones...and it's just gorgeous!!
Here's a link to check it out!!
Have fun, wherever you stay...and give my regards to the white sandy beaches and warm clear water! Wish I could go with!!

Ive been to all the places you have and actually to Playa del carmen also . I love that place. But this year I've been to Panama City Beach twice and I love it. We rented a pontoon and took it out to Shell Island both times, The first time we seen four dolphins swimming next to our boat. I Like to go to two different web sites when i look for rentals. Either www.vrbo.com or www.greatrentals.com. Well this is a great place and great food. Sharkys, Pineapple Willys, the Boat Yard and Shuckums are my favorite places to eat. So I hope this all helps. HAVE FUN!

We have family in Fort Myers so we go at least three times a year and stay at the Caper Beach Club. It has a pool, grill, picnic tables, is on the beach and if very nice and affordable. They offer two and three bedrooms with a full kitchen and living area. Highly recommended.

We personally LOVE Marco Island FL...very close to Naples...I know there is some kind of rental property down there...it's very laid back and BEAUTIFUL. A short drive to Naples. Just wanted to throw that FL location out there, just in case!

We just came back from a trip to Florida. We just recently moved from Vero Beach to here and we went back and stayed at the Disney Resort in Vero Beach. We had always seen it and never visited. It was awesome. There were activities all day long for the kids while you can sit back and relax. It has a great pool, private beach access, a spa, game room, miniature golf, etc. And the best part was that it wasn't too pricey, though we were in the "off" season so I don't know about February prices. The town is kinda lacking in excitement but if you just want to see palm trees and relax around the pool and ocean this is a good place. I also lived in Pensacola & Panama City and they have some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Have Fun!

My brother is in the Marines and we have visited him in SC and Pensacola just recently. We also love the beach, so much so, my husband decided to join the Navy so we'll always be on the coast...lol BUT...Pensacola was beautiful!! And we stayed near Perdido Bay, not Pensacola Beach at a place called Cottages on the Green. It was very inexpensive and very nice and very close to the beach. When we were in South Carolina we stayed in a beach house which was also VERY nice but they are a little more pricey! Have fun!!

You might consider Sanibel Island, FL. It is just over the causeway bridge from Ft. Myers and is a wonderful family vacation. We go every year and stay at Pointe Santo de Sanibel. It is a large condo complex with 2-3 bedroom units that you can rent from a rental agency or the owners. The units are all nice with a gulf front view (the complex sits on the beach, so it's easy to go to the beach/pool for a little while with the little one, then abck to the unit for naps/food, etc. There are many other nice places as well. The island is very family friendly and has fantastic bike paths everywhere that our family enjoys. Just a thought. Here is a link to get you started in case you're interested. http://www.sanibel-online.com/ Have a great time wherever you choose - it's a nice time of year to get away! :)

I was in Ft. Myers Beach this summer. We stayed in a nice hotel right on the beach. Staying in Naples might be more expensive. I would visit there. If you are interested, I can get the name of the hotel and you can call them, or visit their web site.

We stayed at this great condo complex in Marco Island which is just a little further south than naples called anglers cove. We went pre-baby but we do want to go back post baby once we're brave enough to fly with 3 kids. There's a pool, it's on the gulf but there isn't beach access at the condo, you're closer to the marina. They also have a little place on the property called the tiki hut which has great food, my husband liked it cause it was barlike but open air and there were kids.
