My Crib Sheets Are Too Tight/small!!

Help!! My crib sheets are so tight that we have to take the mattress all the way out of the crib and wrestle the sheets on it with two people. Needless to say,not very convenient with an infant! Our mattress must be just a little bit larger than std. size. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've looked for a crib flat sheet that I could just tuck under but can't find anything.

What can I do next?

Hi K.!
I have the same problem...the sheets are such a witch to put on! I finally solved my problem by taking a decent sized "snuggle blanket" (a very soft fleece/ flannel blanket) and folding it in half and tucking it under the mattress while it was in the crib. That way any leaks don't get to the mattress, and it is so much easier to change.

We have found that Pottery Barn crib sheets fit better on the mattress that we have.

Go to Babies R Us and buy one "Ultimate Crib Sheet" - I think it's about $17-20 and it will be the best money you ever spend. You still keep your pretty sheet on and put this one on top. From the top view of the crib the sheet will be white but from the side you will see your pretty sheet. It snaps all the way around (on various crib rungs) and all you do is unsnap and pull up from the middle - I took this off all the time while my daughter (now 4) was on my left hip and I only used my right hand :)

Yep, it's supposed to fit super tight, but I did find a crib sheet from One Step Ahead that is awesome! It's the same idea as the sheets that other people suggested, although it zips instead of snaps. Brilliant idea! Check out this link to view it:

Hi K.,

I had the same problem. I found great sheets that fit perfect at USA Baby in Frisco.

I found that cheaper sheets would shrink over time. The jersey knit ones (with elastic all around) have lasted through 2 children and still go on and off easily and fit very well. Also, the more expensive sheets ($17 or so) with higher thread count and elastic all the way around have held up without shrinking.
