Sheets for Atypical Twin Size Mattress

I'm considering getting a twin bed for my daughter, but would only be able to get an atypical size (33" in width instead of regular 39" with standard length) due to size of our bedroom (we currently share a room and her toddler bed is right next to my full size bed--unfortunately the living room is too small to subdivide and I have back issues which preclude using a pull-out bed). Does anyone know if regular twin sheets are the only bedding option? I hope that we'll be moving in the next year or so and can get her a bigger bed then, but trying to make do in the meantime. Thank you!

What can I do next?

Sounds like something you would have to special order sheets for, but you could look into just using regular twin sheets and using some of these to keep it taught across the short side.

They're adjustable, so you could make them as loose or as tight as you need to keep the sheet tight and in place. HTH!

ETA: After looking for a while, it looks like the 33" width is technically considered a "daybed" mattress, so you could look for daybed sheet sets to see if you can find anything for the same price as a regular twin set. Otherwise, a twin set plus those $5 sheet straps would work just fine! :)

Just use a flat sheet tucked in. Have never seen a narrow twin bed.

I would just try a set of regular twin sheets. They're probably cheaper than a special size and obviously more readily available. Plus you'll still be able to use them when you move. I have a sofa bed mattress that is somewhere between a full and a queen and the queen sheets work well enough.

I would assume if they make a mattress in that size then they must make sheets for it. I have never seen such a mattress, but I would ask where you purchase it. Specialty items are often more expensivce, so just tucking in a flat sheet might be a more affordable option.

Have you looked into Ikea? Their mattresses are actually non-standard sizes, slightly smaller than standard twins, etc. I don't know the exact measurements, but since you're also going smaller than a standard twin, I would think Ikea sheets would at least fit better than standard sheets would. Good luck.

Can rearrange the room so everything fits better?

I got a new mattress set a few years ago and it is an unusual size, Olympic Queen 66X80, the set was a wonderful deal. I didn't think sheets would be that hard to find but I found out the sheets were over$120 a set. I use king size sheets and tuck them in more on the sides.

Instead of getting an unusual size mattress get a twin size air mattress for on the floor. You can move it out of the way or under your bed for daytime.

I've never seen the other size in sheets. If she is still pretty little I would just use the crib mattress on the floor till I moved.

Just get a real fluffy thick bed mattress cover, and then just use the regular "twin" sized sheets. If the padded mattress cover is one of those thicker types, then the Twin sized fitted sheets, will be able to go over it just fine... because you will have 6" more to then fit it over the padded mattress pad.
ie: our bed is a Queen. But we have a thick plush mattress pad cover. Hence, our "regular" Queen size sheets (the fitted sheet) does not go over the bed corners, so then, I have to buy those "deeper" sized sheets, JUST for it to go over our thick bed mattress pad.

Just use the regular twin sheets. And then down the road, you won't have to buy new sheets to fit the larger bed/standard Twin sized bed, you hope to buy, then.
