My Bones Are Falling Apart, I'm Scared and Need a "Dr House" to Problem Solve

I'm freaking out a bit over here and need to find a doctor that can solve strange medical problems. A year ago my pelvis fractured at 37 weeks pregnant for no reason. I'm 37 years old. The doctors were horribly baffled and couldn't explain it and had never seen anything like it. My bone density was fine (hence, no osteoporosis.) There was no trauma of any kind. Then 6 months ago my back was diagnosed with severe arthritis and is in the degenerative process with discs tearing. (Did I mention I'm 37 ?!?) Now my foot fractured and once again there was no trauma of any sort. I've been online all night trying to find something, but don't see anything. I'm going to doctors today, but they already said this is a mystery. Does anyone have any referrals for medical mystery solvers or know of anything that may cause this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi ladies, Thanks so much for the thoughtful responses. I'm getting all my hormonal levels/thyroid/vitamin D/calcium/ and whatever other levels checked by an endocrinologist and another bone density done. The endocrinologist believes it's something with my metabolism and believes we'll get to the bottom of it and hopefully reverse the damage. God bless everyone for helping!

Hi L.,

I am not a dr. but have been into natural healing for over 14 years now, and saved my own life with natural healing.

My free teaching website is www.creeksideherbhouse.com

I teach the theory of natural healing, and help people with conditions of the body.

It sounds to me like you are lacking proper nutrition and the lack of natural calcium and minerals. Please go to the THEORY PAGE of my website and read and understand that page. I would suggest you change your diet to what is on the site and get some skeletal Strength calcium. Also a good green drink, spirulina, chorella, or wheat grass and make a drink 2 to 3 times per day.

If you want to learn more you can contact me at ____@____.com

Hope this helps

Blessings
J. McDowell

Have you heard of Osteogenesis Imperfecta? This is commonlly called the brittle bone disease. This is a genetic thing and I'm wondering if you've had this and then while you were pregnant and with all the additional hormones and blood flow if this didn't just bring this to the for-front? I'm not a medical doctor but thought that maybe this is something that you can go to your DR. with? I hope you soon find out what's going on!

Hi L.: What kind of birth control have you used (or currently use)? I don't have first hand experience, however a close friend was on a progesterone based birth control for way too long and it interfered with her bone density and bone health. She's 34. You might want to mention it to your OB/GYN...

Found this article on http://www.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab006033.html:

Hormone contraceptives and bone health in women

Hormone contraceptives have been related to bone changes in women. Whether such changes lead to more bone fractures later in life is not clear. However, bone health is a major public health concern. Bone density declines with age, and the change increases the risk of fracture. Due to concern about bone health, health care providers may not suggest hormone contraceptives and women may not want to use them.

We did a computer search for studies of birth control methods containing hormones and risk of fractures. Outcomes could also be bone mineral density or markers of bone changes. Birth control pills included types with both estrogen and progestin. Also included were implants and injectables with only progestin. We wrote to researchers to find other trials. We included randomized trials in any language that had at least three treatment cycles. The studies had to compare two types of birth control or one type of birth control or supplement with a placebo or 'dummy' method.

We found 11 trials. Nine studies compared one birth control method with another type or a different dose. Two trials used a placebo. None had fractures as an outcome but most had bone density. Birth control methods with both estrogen and progestin did not appear to affect bone health. In contrast, 'depo,' a progestin-only injectable, was related to lower bone mineral density. The two trials with placebos showed increased bone density when some estrogen was given to women on depo. Bone density decreased in women who got a 'dummy' with the depo. Whether this decrease is clinically important is not known.

Whether hormone contraceptives affect fracture risk cannot be judged from current data. Hormone contraceptives work well for birth control. Health-care providers and women should think about the costs and benefits. For instance, injectable use can occur without a partner's knowledge, and is simpler than taking pills daily. Also, progestin-only methods are suggested for some women with health problems who should avoid estrogen.

Good morning L.,

my prayers to you and the doctors so they can find a cure for this, sounds very painful.

Ask your Dr to do a CRP test (C Reactive Protein test)
this will show how much Silent Inflammation is in your blood system. The February 24th, 2004 issue of TIME Magazine, was all about INFLAMMATION!
Hear this Dr's audio, go to www.DailyHealthJuice.com click on Dr. Vaugh Johnson, he explains the process and why it is necessary for us to have it done.

I am sure you take Vitamins daily , as we all should be taking some supplements, here is a good one I am using , I had never used vitamains before and If you read what these vitamins contain, you will see how they might help you.
www.xango3Sixty5.com you can find all the info there.

Prayer's your way and keep us informed, with your process, all for the better I hope.

God bless,
Oly

L.,
I would suggest a visit to Dr. Ron Manzanero. He's located near Seton Hospital downtown. He's an MD, who uses alternative approaches to uncovering illness. Did you have your vitamin D levels checked? Or other minerals? Hormones? etc.... God be with you and heal you. T.
